Social ethics in Vietnam today: Theoretical and practical issues.

This was the theme of a seminar organized by the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, on November 18, 2009. Over 40 papers addressed two major topics: general theoretical issues concerning ethics and social ethics, and contemporary social ethics: practice and solutions.

In the first section, the reports delve into theoretical issues: the concept, structure, and content of social ethics; the process of forming this concept in Eastern and Western history, as well as different perspectives on ethics; the relationship between ethics and contemporary factors; and the relationship between ethics and other elements in the superstructure...

In addition, several research reports examine Ho Chi Minh's ethical thought in relation to traditional and modern ethical thought.

In the second section, the discussions focused on the current state of morality in our country. Most reports pointed out manifestations of moral decay and degradation in society in the context of economic development and integration; the serious impact of these manifestations on social and human development in various fields; and proposed solutions to help preserve, promote, and create new moral values ​​in the context of our country's development.
