On the morning of November 13th, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - received a delegation of officials from Rikkyo University (Japan) led by Dr. Guoquing Du - Deputy Director of the Center for International Exchange.
The meeting focused on discussing the results of cooperation between the two universities over the past period and proposing suggestions for future collaborative activities.
In 2005, Rikkyo University and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities officially established a cooperation relationship, and since then, the two sides have implemented several student and staff exchange activities. At the meeting, Associate Professor Nguyen Van Kim reaffirmed that Japan remains an important partner in the University's international cooperation development strategy. Based on this, students majoring in Japanese Studies at the University have received significant support from Japanese universities, foundations, and educational organizations. Rikkyo University, with its many internationally recognized academic programs, particularly through its Asian Talent Training Program, has directly facilitated opportunities for talented Vietnamese students to study and work in Japan. Associate Professor Nguyen Van Kim assessed this as an innovative approach by Rikkyo University, enabling Vietnamese students to enter a world-class learning environment and gain experience and enhance their knowledge in a professional working environment.

Dr. Guoquing Du stated that the Japanese government's scholarship program for foreign students had been running for many years, but they later realized the waste of high-quality human resources when trained students were not given opportunities for employment in suitable positions. Therefore, the Asian Talent Training Program was created with the aim of finding outstanding students, training them, and providing them with suitable work environments to develop their abilities.
In 2007 and 2008, five students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities were selected to study in Japan under this program, and they demonstrated their abilities in the new environment. The achievements of these students also contributed to creating a better learning atmosphere for Japanese students.
In summary, Associate Professor Nguyen Van Kim stated that over the past period, the two universities have actively worked to translate the terms of the cooperation agreement into highly effective practical activities. The university hopes to continue receiving assistance from Rikkyo University in human resource training projects, expert exchanges, etc., thereby further strengthening and consolidating the cooperative relationship between the two universities.
