Honoring 181 outstanding young faces in 2009

On the afternoon of December 9, 2009, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a ceremony to honor outstanding young faces of 2009. Among the 181 outstanding young faces this year, there are 151 students, 05 postgraduate students and 25 staff. These are all young people with many achievements in studying and working in the 2008-2009 school year.

At the Commendation Ceremony, MSc. Nguyen Quang Lieu - Head of Student Affairs and Training Department presented an overview report on the Outstanding Young Faces, emphasizing the outstanding achievements that they have made in studying, scientific research and in the general movement of the School.

Regarding study, among 1,120 students of the QH.2005-X course who graduated, 0.2% achieved Excellent, 15.7% achieved Excellent, 15.2% achieved Fair and Fair, with no Fair and Weak grades. Among 65 students of the High Quality program, 72.3% achieved Excellent, 27.7% achieved Fair. The study results of the last school year of the QH.2007.X and QH.2008.X courses were 0.46% Excellent, 9.96% Excellent, 62.84% Fair. The school awarded certificates of merit to 61 students with excellent academic results, 52 students who are class officers, union and association officers with achievements in study and work, and 49 students with difficult circumstances who have overcome difficulties to study well.

Regarding scientific research, in the 2008-2009 school year, 10% of the entire school's students participated in scientific research. The school had 16 student scientific research projects competing at the Ministry level and won 1 First Prize, 1 Second Prize, 1 Third Prize, and 3 Consolation Prizes. The school was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Ministry of Education and Training for its achievements in student scientific research. In 2009, 19% of students participated in scientific research with 697 projects. The units with high achievements in student scientific research are the Faculty of History, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Faculty of Philosophy, Faculty of Literature, Department of Political Science, Faculty of Library Information, Faculty of Archives and Office Management.

For young cadres, because they have to take on many professional and collective tasks, they have to overcome many difficulties to be able to complete their studies, teaching as well as other tasks. This is reflected in the quantity and quality of lectures, research topics, and scientific articles published in specialized journals.

Regarding social and cultural activities, outstanding young faces have actively participated and contributed many achievements to the school's general movement, including many activities that resonated in public opinion. In 2008-2009, the school had 43 students and 17 young cadres admitted to the Party.

Among 181 outstanding young faces at the school level, 13 students and 05 young staff were proposed to be recognized as Outstanding Young Faces at VNU level and 02 staff and 02 students were proposed to receive Certificates of Merit from the President of VNU.
