The Closing Ceremony of 2009 Summer Volunteer Activities of the Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities took place on November 13, 2009.
The summary report of the School Youth Union affirmed the great success of the 2009 volunteer summer and assessed: "The results achieved by the School's youth have contributed to the movement of youth and students in the capital in particular, and the whole country in general, in the economic and social development of the country".
The 2009 Summer Youth Volunteer Team of the School Youth Union launched on July 15, 2009 with 508 students, participating in 13 volunteer models, operating in 08 provinces and cities. With many creative models of activities, associated with the professional characteristics of each unit, the volunteer activities focus on the main directions:
- Participate in local educational work: organize cultural and foreign language classes; donate textbooks, notebooks, and school supplies.
- Participate in local economic development: popularize techniques for planting, caring for, and protecting forests, livestock breeding techniques, and improving the condition of degraded land.
- Participate in building the local cultural and social environment: disseminating laws, traffic safety, environmental protection, consulting on adolescent and women's health care, disseminating knowledge on child care and nurturing, family planning, etc.
- Participate in cultural and sports activities, build and strengthen strong Youth Union and Association organizations: organize cultural and sports activities, summer activities for teenagers, and train professional skills for local Youth Union officials.
- Build youth projects to donate to the locality: build roads, plant forests, build classrooms, dormitories for students, build bookcases for schools.
In addition, a number of other creative models have created their own brands for volunteer students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, implemented effectively and highly appreciated by public opinion such as teaching Han - Nom characters at the Hanoi Children's Palace, promoting Thang Long culture at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, the campaign reporter team of the Faculty of Journalism...
In addition, some limitations of the 2009 summer volunteer movement were also learned from in the summary ceremony such as: volunteer content related to expertise was not really rich, coordination of activities between some volunteer teams and local youth unions still encountered initial confusion...
With the above achievements, 03 groups and 05 members received certificates of merit from Hanoi Youth Union, 05 groups and 10 members received certificates of merit from VNU Youth Union, 05 groups and 62 members received certificates of merit from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities Youth Union.
