On November 24th, Professor Patareeya Wisaijorn, Vice Director for External Relations of Ubon Rajathanee University (Thailand), visited and worked at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
After briefly introducing the university's training programs, Professor Patareeya Wisaijorn also emphasized that one of Ubon Rajathanee University's (UBU) top priorities is developing research activities and collaborative relationships with universities in the Mekong River basin, including Vietnam.
On behalf of the university leadership, Associate Professor Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu (Vice Rector) introduced some of the strengths of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, including Vietnamese Studies, and presented some achievements in teaching and research on Thai Studies at the university.

Initially, the two universities will focus on student and faculty exchange programs. Vietnamese students will have the opportunity to intern at UBU, and faculty from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities can come to Thailand to teach Vietnamese. Conversely, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will facilitate opportunities for Thai students to study and intern in Vietnam.
Ubon Rajathanee University, established in 1990, is located in Ubon Ratchathani province in northeastern Thailand. UBU offers 38 undergraduate programs, 27 postgraduate programs, and 13 doctoral programs. Its constituent units include: the Faculty of Agriculture, the Faculty of Design and Applied Arts, the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Management Science, the Faculty of Political Science, the Faculty of Liberal Arts, the Faculty of Pharmacy, and the School of Medicine and Public Health. UBU currently offers an undergraduate program in Vietnamese Language and Literature. Other social science and humanities programs include Tourism, Social Development, History, Art Studies and Media, Japanese Studies, Chinese Studies, Thai Studies, and Performing Arts.
