From November 4th to 13th, 2009, the Informatics Club (Faculty of Information and Library Science) collaborated with the Youth Union Executive Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to organize the "Informatics Training Program".ĩBasic computer skills training for K54 students" at the Student Internet Access Room of the University.

The training content included: basic knowledge of using computers and the Windows operating system; how to access Internet addresses; practical exercises in creating and using email accounts; how to search for information online; and an introduction to some useful information websites of the University... Members of the Computer Science Club guided the students.

This initiative stems from the fact that first-year students have limited internet access, and the current credit-based training system requires students to possess certain computer and network skills. The aim of the course is to provide the most basic knowledge, creating an initial foundation so that students can later self-study, exchange information with teachers and peers to improve their computer skills for academic purposes.

This training course was first implemented in 2008. The training curriculum is based on the basic computer science curriculum taught in schools, with a particular emphasis on practical exercises.

Nguyen Chi Trung, the head of the Informatics Club, said: "This activity has received a lot of support from K54 students. After the course, many students expressed a desire to participate in advanced training courses on information retrieval, office informatics, database management, etc. However, to make this activity more effective, in the coming years, the club will further strengthen the process of classifying students' skill levels before training, and will especially hold separate sessions for those who are just starting to use computers."
