On January 12, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a gathering for retired staff to celebrate the beginning of 2012 and the Lunar New Year of the Dragon.At the meeting, Professor Vu Duong Ninh, Chairman of the Association of Retired Faculty Members of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, reported on some of the association's outstanding activities in 2011. Established in 2006, the Association of Retired Faculty Members of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities now has nearly 300 members. The association has organized many meaningful activities with the active participation of retired staff. In addition, many veteran teachers continue to participate in teaching and scientific research, serving as members of scientific councils and dissertation defense committees, and publishing numerous scientific works.
On behalf of the University's leadership, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh – Rector – reported on the University's achievements in all activities over the past year. The Rector thanked the staff and faculty for their contributions and extended his best wishes for good health and a happy new year to all teachers and their families. On the morning of January 13, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Natural Sciences held a meeting to extend New Year greetings to local officials. In the afternoon of the same day, representatives of the University's leadership also visited and extended New Year greetings to former leaders of Hanoi University.
