Opening Ceremony of the Faculty of Information Technology's Men's Football Tournament: Four-Team Cup 2018 – A Ten-Year Journey

Attending the opening ceremony, on the guest side, partners and sponsors included Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung (General Director of Homecare Real Estate Management Services Company); Mr. Nguyen Tuan Hung (representative of Iking Sport Co., Ltd.); along with representatives from LeBros Media Company, Viet Y Investment and Production Trading Co., Ltd., etc.

Representing the Faculty were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong (Head of the Faculty of Broadcasting and Communication); Ms. Vu Tra My (Deputy Head of the Faculty); Dr. Nguyen Son Minh (Chairman of the Faculty's Trade Union); Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hau (Secretary of the Faculty's Youth Union), along with numerous faculty members and students from the Faculty.

Dr. Nguyen Son Minh, Chairman of the Trade Union of the Faculty of Broadcasting and Communication, delivered the opening speech for the tournament.

With the aim of promoting a healthy sports movement, fostering camaraderie among students in the Faculty, and creating a platform for practicing professional skills in journalism and communication, the Youth Union and Student Association of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication regularly organize a four-team football tournament.

In 2018, marking a turning point, the Four-Team Cup Open 2018 celebrated its 8th anniversary, having formed and developed over nearly a decade, establishing itself as one of the oldest tournaments and becoming a source of pride and a brand for the Faculty of Broadcasting and Communication.

Furthermore, this year's Four-Team Cup Open 2018 also made its mark by elevating the tournament's level and expanding the participating teams. Instead of four teams from student cohorts within the faculty, this year's tournament invited four additional teams from external media organizations: the VietnamPlus online newspaper team; the Vnbongda.vn website team; the Kenhthethao.vn team; and the media department of Homecare, a real estate management and service company.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Son Minh emphasized, "The participation of football teams from external media organizations has contributed to elevating the tournament. This is not only a playground, but also an opportunity to network and connect with future employers."

Representatives of the sponsors and faculty members from the department took a commemorative photo with each team.

Following the opening ceremony, fans continued to attend the qualifying matches, which were played in a round-robin format. The matches were scheduled to be held consecutively on Sundays from March 25th to April 22nd, 2018.

Following the opening ceremony were two group stage matches: between the K60BC&TT team and the Kenhthethao.vn team, and between the K60 BC&TT team and the Homecare Company team.

Alongside the matches, on Fridays, the organizers of the 2018 Four-Team Open also invite journalists and reporters to exchange, share, and provide guidance on professional skills in areas such as writing articles, taking photos, and making videos.
