USSH FC 2018: Identifying the path to the final match.

Beginning with a 3-1 victory against the combined team of HSB-SIS (Faculty of Business Administration and Faculty of Interdisciplinary Sciences), the USSH men's soccer team was immediately recognized as a team with solid technique, good teamwork, and an attractive style of play.

In the second and third matches, USSH FC maintained their form, securing convincing 2-0 victories against the Faculty of Law and 2-1 against the University of Economics. The beautiful and effective style of play from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities not only brought genuine sportsmanship to the tournament celebrating the 25th anniversary of Hanoi National University, but also seemed to convince their opponents in every match.

Supporter Nguyen Danh Quang, an active member of the Joint Team 1 (comprising 6 units affiliated with Vietnam National University, Hanoi), expressed:"Hopefully the USSH team will reach the semi-finals against the Combined Team 1, because the Faculty of Humanities team plays well and fairly.".

The most tense match was the quarter-final on the afternoon of October 31st against the Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) team, the reigning champions of 2017 and considered the strongest contender for this year's tournament. The 1-1 draw sent the USSH players to a nail-biting penalty shootout. In this match, goalkeeper Trinh Van Bang (History) became the hero by successfully saving a powerful shot from the opposing team. He also made a tactical save, demoralizing the opponent and sending another ball over the crossbar. The penalty shootout result was 4-3 in favor of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The USSH team advanced to the semi-finals against Team 1, as desired by fan Nguyen Danh Quang.

The semi-final match on the afternoon of November 4th truly brought exhilarating emotions to the entire stadium, not just the players of both teams. Before the match began, the presence of the school's leadership, Party Secretary, Principal, Union President, and many teachers made the atmosphere on the field even more electrifying.

USSH FC started the match confidently and decisively. Team 1 displayed great determination. Right from the first half, the Humanities team missed several scoring opportunities in the 6th, 15th, and 23rd minutes.

The five goals that heightened the emotions to a euphoric level all occurred in the second half of the match. Striker Nguyen Van Thuy dropped back slightly to set up the ball, attacking midfielder Nguyen Quoc Huy switched positions, utilizing his speed to score… not one goal, but three. The cheering squad, the Combined Team 1, and the spectators in the stadium were stunned. Combined Team 1 surged forward, making every effort to score two goals. The final score was 3-2, advancing to the Final.

The men's football team of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities consists of 1 team leader and 14 players, from various faculties and departments. This is a carefully selected squad that underwent weeks of intense training before the tournament.

The final match of the men's football tournament celebrating the 25th anniversary of Hanoi National University (1993-2018) will take place at 4:00 PM on November 7, 2018, at the Foreign Language University Sports Complex, between the team from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the team from the University of Foreign Languages. We cordially invite all staff, faculty, and students to come and cheer on the team from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
