In the second and third matches, USSH FC maintained their form, winning convincingly 2-0 against the Faculty of Law and 2-1 against the University of Economics. The beautiful and effective playing style of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities not only brought a true sporting spirit to the tournament celebrating the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Hanoi National University, but also seemed to convince the opponents in each match.
Supporter Nguyen Danh Quang, an active member of the Lien Quan 1 team (consisting of 6 units under VNU) expressed:“Hopefully USSH team will make it to the semi-finals with Lien Quan 1, because Nhan Van team plays well and is gentle, playing very fair”.

The most intense match was the Quarterfinal match on the afternoon of October 31 with the team of the National University of Hanoi, the defending champion of 2017, the team chosen as the most promising candidate of this year's tournament. The 1-1 draw brought the USSH players to the heart-stopping penalty round. In this match, goalkeeper Trinh Van Bang (History) became the hero when he successfully blocked a powerful shot from the opposing team. He also jumped tactically, making the opponent lose his spirit and kicked another ball over the crossbar and out. The 6m penalty result was 4-3 in favor of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The USSH team entered the Semifinal with Lien Quan 1 as fan Nguyen Danh Quang wished.
