The reports are highly appreciated for their practicality in research orientation such as the topic on the application of patent number WO2004098301 “Procedure for the preservation of bananas” to preserve Dai Hoang royal bananas.…Some topics closely follow business issues such as: resolving disputes over trade names and trademarks through the Taisun Vietnam case; innovation activities in foreign direct investment enterprises in Vietnam; commercialization of inventions in Vietnamese science and technology enterprises, etc.
The group of students who won the First Prize presented the report "Application of patent number WO2004098301 “Procedure for the preservation of bananas” to preserve Dai Hoang royal bananas" (Thach Thi Anh Hong, Chu Kim Chi, Tran Quoc Long - University of Social Sciences and Humanities).
In particular, IP issues in Vietnam are viewed in comparison with other countries, under the impact of international integration such as: international patent protection under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) - strategies to delay costs and maximize the value of domestic and international patents; protection of traditional knowledge in the context of international economic integration; determination of trademark infringement under Vietnamese law in comparison with Japanese law...
Associate Professor, Dr. Le Thu Ha (Lecturer of Foreign Trade University, member of the Jury) commented: This year's research has been carefully prepared and invested, so the research is of high quality. I also highly appreciate the live presentations at the conference. The students clearly showed confidence and mastery in their research. In particular, their research is closely linked to practice. This is one of the commendable things because IP should not only be discussed in terms of law but also must be brought into practical life and have a breath of reality.
Dr. Tran Le Hong (Chief of the Office of the National Office of Intellectual Property, member of the Jury) said he was impressed with the report “Application of patent No. WO2004098301 “Procedure for the preservation of bananas” to preserve Dai Hoang royal bananas” by a group of students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The authors knew how to start from practice to come up with their research ideas, and knew how to apply the knowledge they learned to solve real-life problems. That is the greatest value of the research works.
At the end of the conference, the Organizing Committee awarded 01 First prize, 02 Second prizes and 02 Third prizes to the author groups.
