The “USSH S-STAR Humanities Startup Idea” contest is an event organized by the Youth Union – Student Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to create a playground for students who dream of starting a business. By participating in the contest, young people can find direction for their path and experience the working environment of a real businessman.

After more than a month of implementation and competition, the 8 best teams passed the qualifying round and entered the finals. The startup ideas proposed by the students were mostly aimed at supporting students themselves, such as "Free part-time job search application for students: UNO" by the Human Resources Club - Faculty of Management Science; "Application to support finding accommodation" from the Student Volunteer Team; "Direct exam review application (My My)", "SBike idle car rental service" by student Hoang Dinh Tung - Hotel Management major, Faculty of Tourism Studies and School Handbook (UNIVIE). In addition, there were a number of other ideas that were highly appreciated by the judges, such as the Fashion Design project (Shape of you), Link Seller and Marketer (Founder X) and the idea of Providing clean vegetable growing solutions (Mam xanh).

The jury includes Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Thanh Truong (Dean of the Faculty of Management Science, University of Social Sciences and Humanities), Mr. Dang Thanh Dat (Head of the Startup Support Department, Center for Knowledge Transfer and Startup Support of VNU) and many entrepreneurs from large business corporations across the country. The criteria for scoring the ideas of the final round were also built professionally and in detail, providing you with practical experiences of the startup environment in the future.

Outstandingly surpassing 7 strong competitors in the final round, “Free part-time job search application for students: UNO” of the Human Resources Club – Faculty of Management Science in collaboration with the Faculty of Information Technology – Hanoi University of Science and Technology won the “USSH S-STAR 2018 Humanistic Startup Idea” Championship. This is a smart part-time job search application that allows users to use and search for information on both their phones and websites.
The final round of the competition was held within the framework of the Humanities Youth Festival, attracting the attention of many students in the school. The event contributed to spreading the entrepreneurial spirit, providing more knowledge and development skills for students in the 4.0 era.
