Vice Principal Hoang Anh Tuan received representatives of the Department of Education of Jeju Province (Korea)

This morning, April 24, 2018, Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Principal of the School) received Mr. Ko Deoggyu (Head of International Cooperation Department, Jeju Provincial Department of Education, Korea).

The meeting revolved around a request from Jeju province to learn about the training programs of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and to request the University to cooperate and support in training students who are children of Vietnamese-Korean multicultural families in Jeju province.

Vice President Hoang Anh Tuan briefly introduced the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The school was founded in 1945 and is currently the leading prestigious university in Vietnam in research and training in social sciences and humanities. The school trains 24 undergraduate majors, 40 master's majors and 31 doctoral majors. The training majors range from basic sciences such as History, Literature, Han Nom, Linguistics, Philosophy... to highly applied majors such as Journalism, Public Relations, Hotel and Tourism Management, Management Science, Social Work, Psychology, Office Management...

The school has about 1,000 international students studying in the training systems, of which Korean students and trainees account for the second largest number. The training majors at the school that foreign students often choose are: Linguistics, Vietnamese Studies, International Studies, Archival Studies, History... The school is the leading training address for Vietnamese language and history, culture, and Vietnamese society and participates in supporting the establishment of many Vietnamese study centers in the world.

Vice Principal Hoang Anh Tuan highly appreciated the attention of Jeju Provincial Government to children of Vietnamese - Korean families and affirmed that they will create all conditions to receive them to study Vietnamese language, culture as well as majors and training programs at the school. Besides the commitment to training quality, the school will also support students in finding accommodation, tuition exemptions, and finding job opportunities in Vietnam.

In response, Mr. Ko Deoggyu expressed his gratitude for the sincere welcome and the specific and useful information provided by the University. He said he wanted to cooperate with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in many fields of activity in the future.
