Vice Principal Hoang Anh Tuan receives representatives from the Jeju Provincial Department of Education (South Korea).

This morning, April 24, 2018, Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University) received Mr. Ko Deoggyu (Head of International Cooperation Department, Jeju Provincial Department of Education, South Korea).

The meeting revolved around a request from Jeju Province to learn more about the training programs offered by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and to ask for the University's cooperation and support in training students from Vietnamese-Korean multicultural families in Jeju Province.

Vice Rector Hoang Anh Tuan gave a brief introduction to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Established in 1945, the university is currently a leading prestigious university in Vietnam for research and training in social sciences and humanities. It offers 24 undergraduate programs, 40 master's programs, and 31 doctoral programs. The training programs range from fundamental sciences such as History, Literature, Sino-Vietnamese Studies, Linguistics, Philosophy, etc., to highly applied fields such as Journalism, Public Relations, Hotel and Tourism Management, Management Science, Social Work, Psychology, and Office Management.

The university has approximately 1000 international students enrolled in various programs, with Korean students and trainees making up the second largest number. Popular fields of study among international students include: Linguistics, Vietnamese Studies, International Studies, Archival Studies, History, etc. The university is a leading institution for training in the Vietnamese language and Vietnamese history, culture, and society, and has supported the establishment of many Vietnamese Studies centers around the world.

Vice Rector Hoang Anh Tuan highly appreciated the Jeju provincial government's attention to the children of Vietnamese-Korean families and affirmed that the school would create all conditions to welcome them to study Vietnamese language and culture, as well as other majors and specializations at the school. Besides committing to the quality of education, the school will also support the students in finding accommodation, waiving tuition fees, and finding job opportunities in Vietnam.

In response, Mr. Ko Deoggyu expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and the specific, useful information provided by the University. He stated that he would like to cooperate with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in many areas of activity in the future.
