Cooperation to expand entrepreneurship education between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and University College Dublin Ireland

On November 23, 2023, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) had a meeting and worked with the Innovation Academy - University College Dublin Ireland (UCD - IA) within the framework of the bilateral cooperation program between Vietnam and Ireland (VIBE) on training, innovation and entrepreneurship.
On behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, there was the participation of Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the school and representatives of the Faculty of Literature and the Faculty of Management Science.
The delegation from the Innovation Academy - University College Dublin Ireland (UCD - IA) included Prof. Suzi Jarvis - Director of the Academy and Innovation experts: Alan Morgan, Jacinta Owens - lecturers of the Academy. Accompanying the delegation was Dr. Nguyen Thi Anh Thu - Head of Cooperation & Development Department, VNU, Head of the VIBE Project Executive Board.
At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan affirmed that entrepreneurship and innovation are among the top priorities of the school. With the position of a leading training and research institution in Vietnam in research and training in social sciences and humanities, the school's lecture system and training programs are always innovated and upgraded, meeting the needs of learners and the requirements of the labor market in Vietnam as well as in the world.
In particular, with the desire to support Vietnamese youth, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has been chosen by the Dao Minh Quang Foundation to implement the Project "Start-up and Sustainable Entrepreneurship in Vietnam". Currently, the school is building a specialized library on entrepreneurship and start-up - a knowledge space for students and people interested in entrepreneurship and innovation. In the future, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will complete the program and learning materials on entrepreneurship and start-up, transferring basic knowledge and skills to young people who want to start a sustainable business and avoid risks.

Prof. Suzi Jarvis expressed her sincere thanks to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for sending talented and enthusiastic lecturers and postgraduates to exchange at the Academy and participate in the VIBE project. Prof. Suzi Jarvis welcomed the university's efforts in balancing the classical academic quality of basic sciences with the modern trends in the world. According to the Professor, entrepreneurship and start-ups are not new trends but require training institutions and learners to have a broad and comprehensive view of many aspects. The teaching approach of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities helps learners acquire practical skills for the current labor market, and this will be the premise for the two training institutions to cooperate in developing research, international publications and exchanging lecturers and students.
At the meeting, Innovation experts of the Innovation Academy - UCD University highly appreciated the vision and enthusiastic support of the University leaders and the Rector personally for the bilateral cooperation project in general as well as the activities of the VNU Innovation Educators community in particular.

Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan expressed his gratitude from the University leadership to Dr. Nguyen Thi Anh Thu - Head of VIBE Project and experts from the Innovation Academy of UCD Ireland in designing the program and training and fostering knowledge and methods of innovation for lecturers. In the coming time, the Innovation Academy - University College Dublin Ireland will support the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in implementing the construction of a shared workspace for lecturers, a Startup Center, and possibly building an Innovation Center....

VIBE is a bilateral cooperation program between Vietnam and Ireland with the participation of VNU, implementing training courses for Innovative and Entrepreneurial Educators. In particular, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities sent Dr. Nguyen Thi Nam Hoang (Faculty of Literature) to participate in the Design your life course in 2019 at the Innovation Academy (UCD IA). Accordingly, Dr. Nguyen Thi Nam Hoang and MSc. Truong Thu Ha (Faculty of Management Science) were selected as Innovation Ambassadors of the program, participating in advanced courses on innovation in Ireland and participating in training on innovation in education for many universities across the country.
