Opening Ceremony of the Postgraduate Program, Course QH-2018-X

Attending the ceremony were Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University).

On behalf of the University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thanh Nam (Head of the Training Department) announced the decisions and documents recognizing the doctoral candidates and master's students admitted for the 2018 academic year. This year, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has 46 doctoral candidates and 410 master's students admitted; of which 118 master's students were admitted in the first round, 275 master's students were admitted in the second round, and 17 master's students are foreign nationals.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Rector Hoang Anh Tuan extended his warmest wishes to the new doctoral and master's students of the 2018-2019 cohort. He stated that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities currently offers over 70 postgraduate programs with diverse fields/specializations, ensuring a structure that is compatible with domestic needs as well as global trends. Over the years, the University has adjusted the training process, the organization of courses, and the procedures for thesis defense, aiming to create a more flexible and effective learning process for master's and doctoral students. The Vice Rector also urged training units to adhere closely to the training process, upholding the spirit of service and innovation in postgraduate training.

At the end of the ceremony, on behalf of the new doctoral and master's students, Master's student Nguyen Xuan Linh (International Relations major) expressed his gratitude for the University's attention and support in arranging and organizing the training process appropriately. Mr. Linh shared: The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, is a key university with a long-standing reputation in disseminating and creating knowledge, and training high-quality human resources in social sciences and humanities. He also wished the new master's students and doctoral candidates high achievements in their studies and research.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, postgraduate students and graduate students were briefed on the training regulations for the new academic year and completed the enrollment procedures.
