Opening Ceremony of the AUN-QA Evaluation Program for the Bachelor of Psychology and Sociology Program

The program was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nantana Gajaseni (Head of the AUN evaluation team), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tan Kay Chuan (Chief Evaluator of the Bachelor of Psychology program), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eric Wibisono (Chief Evaluator of the Bachelor of Sociology program), and other members of the delegation. Representing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities were Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa (Vice Rector), along with representatives from the leadership and faculty of the Psychology Department, the Sociology Department, and other functional departments.

Speaking at the opening session, Professor Pham Quang Minh briefly introduced the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, emphasizing the importance of social sciences and humanities in the development of universities today. The Rector also stated that, in the era of competition and international integration, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is striving to overcome challenges and increasingly affirm its position. Therefore, quality accreditation is crucial because it helps identify and address shortcomings in training and research activities, thereby improving the university's reputation and expanding its international relations. The Rector expressed his gratitude to the AUN evaluation team for their unwavering support throughout this process.

On behalf of the AUN evaluation team, Associate Professor Dr. Nantana Gajaseni highly appreciated the University of Social Sciences and Humanities' commitment to quality assurance. Like Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh, she believes this work should be carried out wholeheartedly and with dedication, aiming to improve and enhance the quality of education. She also noted that the AUN evaluation is only one part of a long-term quality assurance process. In this process, the role of the AUN evaluation team is to understand the mission and objectives in order to support the University in achieving its set goals. Over the next two days of work, she hopes to receive enthusiastic and open cooperation from the Faculty of Psychology and the Faculty of Sociology.

Following the opening session, there will be specific working sessions between the AUN evaluation team and relevant individuals and organizations. Subsequent evaluation sessions will continue until November 8th.

This is the 5th time the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has organized a quality assessment activity according to the standards of the ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA). Since 2014, the University has carried out this work with four other undergraduate programs: Linguistics (2014), Oriental Studies (2015), Philosophy (2016), and Literature (2017).
