Opening of the AUN-QA Assessment Program for Bachelor of Psychology and Sociology

The program was attended by Associate Professor Dr. Nantana Gajaseni (Head of AUN evaluation team), Associate Professor Dr. Tan Kay Chuan (Chief evaluator of the Bachelor of Psychology program), Associate Professor Dr. Eric Wibisono (Chief evaluator of the Bachelor of Sociology program) and staff of the delegation. On the side of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, there were Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University), Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University), Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa (Vice Rector of the University) and representatives of leaders, lecturers of the Faculty of Psychology, Faculty of Sociology, and functional departments.

Speaking at the opening session, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh briefly introduced the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, emphasizing the importance of Social Sciences and Humanities in the development of universities today. The Rector also said that in the era of international competition and integration, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is striving to overcome challenges to increasingly affirm its position. Therefore, quality assessment is very important because this activity contributes to identifying and overcoming limitations in training and research activities, thereby improving the reputation and expanding the international relations of the University. The Rector expressed his gratitude to the AUN Evaluation Team for always accompanying the University in this activity.

On behalf of the AUN Evaluation Team, Associate Professor Dr. Nantana Gajaseni highly appreciated the attention of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to quality assurance. Like Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh, she said that this work needs to be done with all her heart and passion with the aim of improving and enhancing the quality of training. At the same time, the AUN evaluation activities are only part of the long-term quality assurance process. In particular, the role of the AUN Evaluation Team is to understand the mission and tasks to support the University in achieving the set targets. In the next two working days, she hopes to receive enthusiastic and open cooperation from the Faculty of Psychology and the Faculty of Sociology.

Following the opening session are specific working sessions between the AUN assessment team and relevant individuals and units. The following assessment sessions will last until November 8.

This is the 5th time that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has organized a quality assessment activity according to the standards of the ASEAN University Network (AUN-QA). Since 2014, the University has carried out this work with 4 other undergraduate training programs: Linguistics (2014), Oriental Studies (2015), Philosophy (2016), Literature (2017).
