USSH welcomes the "golden" generation of students in the 2019 admissions season!

Sharing his feelings on the first morning welcoming new students, Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University) said: "Observations from the first days of the 2019 university admissions process show the great interest of candidates and society in social sciences and humanities in general, and in the 28 majors and training programs of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi this year. The University has based its admissions decisions on the enrollment quotas assigned by VNU Hanoi and the aspirations of the students to determine and finalize the cut-off scores."

The school received encouraging news when, within just one week, the percentage of students confirming their online enrollment reached nearly 100%. And on the very first morning of welcoming students, the attendance rate was exceptionally high, reaching 100% of the target. This indicates that the prospective students truly love their chosen field and have placed their trust in the school's training programs.

Vice Rector Hoang Anh Tuan converses with new students of the K64 cohort majoring in International Studies and Public Relations on the morning of August 22, 2019.

The university's impression of the new cohort of students – mostly born in 2001 – is that they are young, dynamic, confident, have a high quality of entry, and bring a fresh perspective, aligning with the innovative spirit the university is pursuing. This is perhaps a "golden" generation of students in whom the university places great expectations for academic quality, outstanding maturity, and a spirit of integration.

There are grounds for making such a statement. This year, the national high school graduation exam was considered well-organized, from the quality of the exam questions to the strict grading process, and the distribution of national exam scores remained stable. The number of applicants to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, increased compared to last year, with over 41,000 applications. The cut-off scores for each major increased by an average of 2-2.5 points, with some majors seeing a significant increase. The number of applicants using subject combinations including a foreign language for admission also increased significantly, reaching 65% of applicants. These are all indicators that show the promising prospects of this cohort of students in their studies, careers, and competitiveness in the future labor market, especially in the regional and international labor markets. This will be a promising cohort of students for the University.

Vice Rector Hoang Anh Tuan Nhan also extended his congratulations to the K64 students, thanking them and their families for their trust and confidence in the quality and prestige of the University. The QH-2019-X cohort will benefit from a spirit of innovation in training, from curriculum reform to teaching methods, student support, and management – a comprehensive innovation that has gained momentum and will move strongly forward in 2019. The University is committed to continuing to improve the quality of training, closely following global and regional training trends, labor market trends, and harmoniously combining theory and professional practice.

The Vice Principal commented that K64 is a promising cohort of students and the university has high expectations for their future achievements.

The teachers are ready and enthusiastic for a new school year, aiming not only to impart knowledge but also to inspire the students on their upcoming learning journey.
