"The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a special and priority partner."

On November 11, 2013, Professor Nguyen Van Khanh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) received and worked with a delegation from the University of Toulouse II – Le Mirail (Republic of France) led by Professor Jean Michel Minovez (Rector). Also present were representatives from the Psychology, Sociology, and Tourism departments, as well as other functional offices.

During the meeting, Professor Nguyen Van Khanh gave an overview of the historical traditions and achievements of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities over the past nearly 70 years. The University is currently a leading training and research institution in social sciences and humanities in Vietnam, having served as a research and teaching center for many leading scientists and cultural figures, and as a cradle for training many renowned leaders and managers of the country. Currently, the University has 13,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students, offering 23 undergraduate programs and 60 postgraduate specializations, and has 8 joint training programs with prestigious universities abroad.

The university has extensive collaborative relationships with over 180 partners, including prominent French representatives such as: University of Paris 7, University of Paris 1 Pantheon Sorbonne, University of Toulouse II Le Mirail, University of Marseille Aix-en-Provence… Professor Nguyen Van Khanh emphasized: “The university considers the collaborative relationship with University of Toulouse II Le Mirail to be of paramount importance and one of the most effective international cooperation activities in the last 20 years.” University of Toulouse II Le Mirail has supported and coordinated with the university in implementing joint French-language training programs, including: bilingual undergraduate training in Clinical Psychology, Master's in Child and Adolescent Developmental Psychology, and Master's in Public Policy and Business Management. The products of these training programs have been well received and highly valued by society.

Professor Nguyen Van Khanh suggested that in the future, the cooperative relationship between the two universities should be further strengthened to achieve specific goals: maintaining and upholding the quality of existing joint training programs, coordinating the opening of additional joint Master's programs in Social Psychology, Labor, Career Guidance, and Environment, and jointly organizing research seminars or joint research projects on topics related to regional development, psychology, sociology, tourism studies, etc., which are strengths of both universities.

The delegation from Toulouse II – Le Mirail University met with faculty and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Professor Jean Michel Minovez stated that, throughout its history, the University of Toulouse II Le Mirail has had a particular interest in Vietnam in general and in collaborative training programs with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in particular. Professor Jean Michel Minovez affirmed: "The University of Social Sciences and Humanities has always been a special and priority partner."

Highly appreciating the effectiveness of existing joint training programs, Professor Le Mirail, Rector of Toulouse II University, stated that the relationship between the two universities will continue to focus on quality, efficiency, and intensity of activities, as well as the bilateral nature of the partnership. Toulouse II University Le Mirail supports the expansion of joint training programs and research projects in social sciences and humanities between the two universities.

* The University of Toulouse II Le Mirail is one of the oldest universities in Asia, founded in 1229, with strengths in training in social sciences and humanities such as languages, arts, literature, psychology, sociology, history, geography, etc. The university has 24,000 students and 2,000 staff members, including 1,000 lecturers.
