Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim congratulated the students who received scholarships from Aeon Group for their outstanding efforts in studying.

Affirming the position and achievements of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in training high-quality human resources, the Associate Professor, Vice Rector said: The University is striving to implement the strategy of internationalizing training programs and scientific research activities, and one of the priority directions is Oriental studies, including Japanese studies. In the context of the relationship between Vietnam and Japan developing at the level of comprehensive strategic partnership, the University has received much attention and support from the Japanese Government, the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, universities and Japanese funding funds. The University is the first unit in the Northern region to receive a scholarship from the Aeon Group. This is a meaningful reward to encourage and motivate students to overcome difficulties to study and practice well, thereby contributing to supporting the University in training and research activities.

Next, Mr. Yukio Konishi (General Director of Aeon Mall Vietnam) gave a speech to the teachers and students of the school, emphasizing Aeon's efforts in social development projects, talent training, and promoting student exchanges. Currently, Vietnam is playing an increasingly important role in the ASEAN region and the investment in Vietnam marks a major turning point in the process of building and developing the Aeon Group. With the above orientation, this is the second year that the Aeon Group has implemented the plan to plant forests, award scholarships and build schools in Vietnam. Aeon hopes that by granting scholarships to students, it will support more scientific research activities and student exchanges in Vietnam, thereby further strengthening the friendly relations between the two countries.

Representatives of Aeon Group and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities awarded Aeon scholarships for the 2013-2014 academic year to 30 students from 16 faculties and departments in the university.
