Attending the ceremony were Mr. Yukio Konishi (General Director of Aeon Mall Vietnam), Mr. Moto Tomomura (General Secretary of Aeon 1% Club), and Mr. Ishikawa Tadahiko (Chief Representative of Aeon Vietnam). Representing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Vice Rector) and representatives from various faculties and departments.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim congratulated the students who received scholarships from the Aeon Group for their outstanding efforts in their studies.

Affirming the position and achievements of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in training high-quality human resources, the Vice Rector stated: The University is striving to implement a strategy of internationalizing its training programs and scientific research activities, and one of the priority areas is Oriental studies, including Japanese studies. In the context of the developing relationship between Vietnam and Japan as a comprehensive strategic partnership, the University has received much attention and support from the Japanese Government, the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, Japanese universities, and Japanese funding sources. The University is the first institution in the North to receive a scholarship from the Aeon Group. This is a meaningful reward that encourages and motivates students to overcome difficulties to excel in their studies and training, thereby contributing to supporting the University in its training and research activities.

Following this, Mr. Yukio Konishi (General Director of Aeon Mall Vietnam) delivered a speech to the faculty and students of the university, emphasizing Aeon's efforts in social development projects, talent training, and promoting student exchange. Currently, Vietnam is playing an increasingly important role in the ASEAN region, and investment in Vietnam marks a major turning point in the development of the Aeon Group. With this orientation, this is the second year that Aeon Group has implemented its plan to plant forests, award scholarships, and build schools in Vietnam. Aeon hopes that through providing scholarships to students, it will support more scientific research activities and student exchange in Vietnam, thereby further strengthening the friendly relations between the two countries.

Representatives from the Aeon Group and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities awarded Aeon scholarships for the 2013-2014 academic year to 30 students from 16 faculties and departments within the university.
