1. Outstanding Young Person Award at the School LevelThis award is given to students, faculty, and staff under 40 years of age who are working or studying at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, possess good political and moral qualities, lead a healthy lifestyle, actively contribute to social work, class activities, Youth Union activities, and Student Association activities, have high prestige and influence within the group, are respected by the group, and meet one of the following requirements:
a. Young people who have achieved outstanding results in their studies, research, and work:
- Students must have achieved a GPA of 3.60 or higher in the 2012-2013 academic year, have no failed exams or repeated courses during that year, and have an excellent conduct rating.
- Students from disadvantaged backgrounds who demonstrate a strong spirit of overcoming difficulties and striving for success, or outstanding class/youth union/student association officers, with a GPA of 3.20 to 3.59 in the 2012-2013 academic year, no failed exams or repeated courses in that year, and an excellent conduct grade.
(The criteria for students from disadvantaged backgrounds are defined in Circular No. 54/1998/TT-LT dated August 31, 1998, of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Education and Training, and Decision No. 09/2011/QD-TTg dated January 30, 2011, of the Prime Minister on the promulgation of poverty standards applicable for the period 2011-2015).
- Graduate students must achieve a GPA of 3.60 or higher in their coursework and have at least one article published in a national or international scientific journal.
- Doctoral candidates must achieve a GPA of 3.70 or higher in their specialized subject exams and have at least two articles published in national or international scientific journals.
- Young cadres who have achieved the title of Emulation Soldier at the grassroots level or higher.
b. Young faces are students who have won official individual awards in regional and international Olympic competitions.
c. Young faces are officials or students who have won first or second prize at the national level or at the level of central ministries, departments, Hanoi National University, provinces, or centrally-administered cities in scientific research, culture and arts, or sports.
Note: No awards will be given to students who graduated in the 2012-2013 academic year.
2. Selection periodUnits should conduct the selection process and submit the list (using the provided template) directly to the Political and Student Affairs Department before November 15, 2013 (Friday).
The school will not consider applications and lists that are not submitted in the correct format and within the prescribed deadline. After the Decision recognizing the title of "Outstanding Young Person at the School Level in 2013" is issued, the school will continue to select and nominate candidates for the title of "Outstanding Young Person at the Hanoi National University Level" and award a Certificate of Merit from the Director of Hanoi National University.
We request that heads of units pay attention to directing and implementing this.
