On November 14, 2013, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Vice Rector) had a meeting with representatives from Lund University (Sweden), including Professor Bo Göransson (Project Director).

In 2010, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities participated in the Central Party Organization Committee's Project on Training and Developing Leadership and Management Cadres Abroad (Project 165) with a Master's program in Science and Technology Management in collaboration with Lund University. In 2012, the first 36 students received their diplomas. The quality of training in the program was highly appreciated by the Project 165 Management Board. This was also one of three training programs selected by the Project 165 Management Board to continue implementing the second course, expected to begin in early 2014.
During the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim expressed his high appreciation for the capabilities of the professors and scientists from Lund University participating in this joint program. Through this, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and its Vietnamese faculty and staff have learned valuable experience in educational management and science and technology management from the partner university. Vietnamese students have the opportunity to study an advanced, world-class training program right here in Vietnam. In particular, through international joint training programs with reputable partners, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities accelerates the internationalization of its training programs, improves the quality of education, and integrates with the world.
Professor Bo Göransson stated that Lund University faculty members gained invaluable teaching and research experience after participating in the collaborative project. The program ensured the quality and progress of training and met many other stringent criteria of the Project as well as Lund University.
Representatives from both institutions also affirmed the potential and broad prospects for cooperation between the two universities, and agreed to strengthen cooperation in many other areas such as coordinating the implementation of short-term training courses on public policy, public administration, tourism and hotel management, etc.; participating in research on innovation in the management of science and technology systems, etc.
