On May 28, 2018, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) signed a memorandum of cooperation with Seoul Technical College (Korea) on behalf of the University, represented by Dr. Lee Seung Dal (Director). Also attending the signing ceremony were representatives of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, the Department of Politics and Student Affairs, and the Department of Cooperation and Development.

At the meeting, Dr. Lee Seung Dal expressed his joy at being warmly welcomed by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. He said that for more than 30 years since its establishment in 1978, Seoul Vocational College has always emphasized creating good jobs for students through training not only in Korean but also in necessary skills. Currently, Korean companies are increasingly investing in Vietnam. Besides Korean, Vietnamese students need to be provided with knowledge and professional skills to increase their chances of finding a job. Therefore, Seoul Technical College hopes to cooperate with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to build a language foundation and capacity for Vietnamese students when approaching Korean companies. In return, the Korean side will send students to Vietnam to study abroad through exchange programs.

On behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh highly appreciated the achievements of Seoul Technical College. The President said that in a university education system, in addition to academic institutions, vocational training institutions such as Seoul Technical College are also very necessary. The President saw great potential for cooperation between the two sides, because the other side can supplement practical skills for students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, which emphasizes basic sciences. Vietnam and Korea also have many similarities, creating conditions for cooperation between educational institutions of the two countries. Based on those foundations, the two schools can expand cooperation to many more fields.

Next, the leaders of both sides signed a memorandum of cooperation. Accordingly, the two schools agreed to: closely coordinate to achieve the goals of educational cooperation; cooperate to establish a Korean Language and Business Academy between the two sides; in the future, cooperate to provide educational services in areas of mutual interest and agreement. Specific programs and projects will be implemented through independent agreements and contracts between the relevant parties.
