From March 27th, 2018 to May 11th, 2018, the CASA Student Support Advisory Team, under the Department of Politics and Student Affairs, welcomed two Danish volunteers to teach six English classes over a period of seven weeks. Over 100 students participated in this series of classes.

The class combines diverse teaching methods with pronunciation training and improved communication skills through each learning content. Skill development is further enhanced through games and extracurricular activities. The class organizers hope that students will maximize their potential and have a relaxed learning environment.

Sharing her experience after the course, student Nguyen Thi Phuong (Faculty of Oriental Studies) said:"After the course, I've overcome my shyness whenever I meet foreigners. The course especially provided a free opportunity to practice English, which is invaluable for students from out of town with difficult economic circumstances who can't afford to improve their skills at language centers like me."

Viet Phuong (a student from the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language) shares her novel experience in learning a foreign language:"I found that the course not only improved my foreign language skills but also helped me practice skills through group games like...":Teamwork skills, presentation skills, communication skills…DI had the opportunity to study with fellow volunteers for 7 weeks.,"I also learned something about the proactive and professional work ethic of my colleagues."
Two volunteers, Katrine and Rebekka, from Denmark, shared:"The English proficiency of the course participants is uneven, with many still hesitant to communicate with foreigners.". NSeeing the difficulties, we regularly discuss and reinforce the lessons to help students feel more comfortable and confident in communicating after each class.. CWe are very pleased with the progress you have made after the course..
Katrine, a 20-year-old who was visiting Vietnam for the first time, said:"I truly feel warm and don't want to leave USSH; the students have been involved with us in so many activities.". TI had the opportunity to participate in blood donation activities, perform in cultural shows, practice martial arts, and experience culture with my friends. Initially, we came to USSH as volunteers, but after seven weeks, we have become an integral part of USSH.. VWith the most affectionate feelings, I return to Denmark.,We will continue to stand by you.".

After the first course, CASA conducted a survey of student feedback. The survey results showed that 98% of students were very satisfied with the content, program, and teaching methods; 97% of students self-assessed that they had made progress after the course, and 100% of students wished to take subsequent courses.

From July 9th to August 10th, 2018, CASA plans to continue offering free English classes with the participation of volunteers at the school, with a total of four classes. For this course, CASA welcomes two volunteers from the UK and the US.
