Lunch Box Club for English is an English club for staff and lecturers of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The club meets every Friday afternoon with the participation of representatives of the board of directors, foreign professors and international students.
Lunch Box Club for English was born in May 2017 from the idea of Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Principal of the School). Originating from the need to create an English practice environment for staff, the Club is a place to connect people who love English and want to exchange and share with colleagues about many issues in life and work. With the principle of "no Vietnamese" and everyone can play the role of a speaker to express their views, the Club attracts the attention of many people thanks to a series of very interesting and rich topics, close to the lives of staff such as: your work experience, how to manage time effectively, build a service attitude in university, balance work and family, solutions to build a research university, behavior in the workplace, how to learn English effectively, how to build good habits, promote traditional cultural values ... The activities are also a place for young lecturers to present and exchange new research ideas in English. The participation of foreign professors and students brings interesting highlights and new perspectives on the main topic from the comparative perspective of Vietnamese and foreign cultures.
After one year of operation, Lunch Box Club for English has helped many young cadres from their initial shyness and self-consciousness with English gradually become confident and achieve certain results in communicating and practicing English. With the results achieved, Lunch Box Club for English will continue to expand in terms of presentation content as well as methods of experiencing English.
After the presentation on the topic “My dream”, the members of Lunch Box Club for English held a small celebration on the occasion of its first anniversary, to review the achievements of the Club in the past time and join hands to build a new action plan for Lunch Box Club for English in the coming time.
