Signed a cooperation agreement with Hanyang Technological University (South Korea)

On September 11, 2017, Professor Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) held a meeting and signed a cooperation agreement with a delegation from Hanyang Technological University (South Korea), led by Dr. Tae Soo Rya (Vice Rector). Also present were representatives from the Faculty of Linguistics, the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language, and the Office of Cooperation and Development. This document follows up on the agreement signed on November 18, 2016.

At the meeting, Professor Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) highly appreciated the discussions between the two sides leading to the signing of a detailed document. This is in line with the internationalization strategy and brings practical benefits to the university's students. The Rector hoped that this document would be realized in specific activities between the two sides.

Dr. Tae Soo Rya expressed her delight at being warmly welcomed by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Dr. Tae Soo Rya stated that Hanyang Technological University aims to provide learning opportunities in a conducive environment for Vietnamese students and trainees, especially through distance learning via the internet. Hanyang Technological University also hopes to cooperate with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to facilitate opportunities for Korean-Vietnamese multicultural families to study and work in Vietnam. This would be a practical contribution to the developing relationship between Vietnam and Korea in general.

Following this, the leaders of both sides signed the second official cooperation agreement. According to this agreement, the two universities will conduct student exchanges with a maximum of 5 students for a period of one year. Both universities will provide transcripts and certificates of completion to the exchange students. Both universities are responsible for arranging dormitories and providing safe and suitable living conditions for the students; or, by mutual agreement, either the sending or receiving university may subsidize the students' living expenses. This agreement is valid for 5 years from the date of signing and is automatically renewed without requiring further input from either side.
