The workshop is scheduled to be held over three days, September 26-27-28, 2018, at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand. Representatives from the leadership of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will participate in the workshop's organizing committee. The workshop aims to strengthen cooperation among core member units of KoSASA through exchange and in-depth exploration of new directions to promote Korean Studies in Southeast Asia in the future. Presentations will focus on important and pressing issues concerning the current Korean economy, society, and culture from a Southeast Asian perspective.
The conference is expected to be divided into four sessions: (i) the Presidents' Forum, where representatives from nine leading universities in Southeast Asia will present strategies for international research cooperation, (ii) a panel discussion on Korean Studies Education in Southeast Asia, (iii) a panel discussion presenting the results of collaborative research in social sciences and humanities between key universities in Southeast Asia, and (iv) a thematic workshop on Korean language training, aiming to assess the current situation and share experiences in Korean language training in Southeast Asia, Australia, and Korea.
As a member of the KoSASA Advisory Board, Professor Pham Quang Minh is committed to doing his utmost to ensure the success of this important international conference. The Rector will also extend an invitation to submit papers to lecturers and researchers from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, who are interested in the conference topics.

KoSASA is an academic organization/forum established in 2004 at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, in collaboration with the University of New South Wales, Australia, and the Korea Foundation. KoSASA's mission is to support and promote research and teaching of Korean studies and the application of Korean studies knowledge in Southeast Asian countries. KoSASA holds a conference every two years to summarize and evaluate the activities of its partner universities over the past two years, and to implement or propose new collaborative projects. In Vietnam, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Hanoi, are two active partners of KoSASA, having hosted the founding conference in Ho Chi Minh City in 2004 and the annual conference in Hanoi in 2012.
