The Institute of Journalism and Communication Training is one of the leading and most prestigious institutions in the country for training human resources in the field of journalism and communication. It is the only institution among journalism training facilities to offer two undergraduate programs in Journalism and Public Relations. The Institute is also a pioneer in implementing postgraduate programs: Master of Journalism, Master of Applied Journalism, Master of Journalism and Communication Management, Master of Communication Management in collaboration with the University of Bristol (UK), and Doctor of Journalism. In recent years, the Institute has intensified its collaboration with many localities to train Master of Applied Journalism to improve the quality of human resources in journalism and communication for the provinces.

The Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (website://journal.ussh.vnu.edu.vn) is the official scientific publication of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, operating under license number 155/GP-BTTTT dated May 11, 2015, issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications. Its International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) is 2354-1172. The journal's mission is defined as "a forum for academic exchange, introducing new and high-quality scientific research results in social sciences and humanities both domestically and internationally, serving the national development in the context of integration and globalization." Although only operating for 5 years, the journal has quickly affirmed its quality and position within the system of scientific journals in the field of social sciences and humanities nationwide. The journal has been recognized and awarded points (1 point) by 8 Professor Title Councils in various disciplines and interdisciplinary fields. The Editorial Board comprises 37 scholars, including 6 foreign scholars. Each year, the journal publishes 4 issues in Vietnamese and 2 issues in English. To date, the journal has been listed in information and scientific databases at universities, research institutions, and major libraries in Vietnam, as well as in international databases such as: Vietnamese Studies training institutions abroad, the Vietnamese Studies Scholars Network (VSG), and has been cited by Google, Scholars, Worldcat, Openarchives, etc. By 2030, the journal aims to meet international standards to be included in the list of leading prestigious scientific journals in the region and the world (Scopus and ISI journal lists).

The Communications Department - Cooperation and Development Office is the unit directly operating the University's official website and fanpage. In the story shared by the University's leadership, not only were there directions for the University's communication activities in the coming period, but also expectations and desires for the University's communication activities to continuously improve in quality, professionalism, creativity, diversity in presentation, and approach to the specific audience of a university. In the past academic year, the Communications Department received a Certificate of Commendation from the Director of Hanoi National University for outstanding achievements in communication activities.
