The Institute of Journalism and Communication is one of the cradles of training human resources in the field of journalism and communication with the leading tradition and prestige in the country. The Institute is the only unit among journalism training institutions to implement 02 undergraduate training programs in Journalism and Public Relations. The Institute is also a pioneer in implementing postgraduate training programs: Master of Journalism, Master of Applied Journalism, Master of Journalism and Communication Management, Master of Communication Management in association with the University of Stirling (UK), PhD. Journalism. In recent years, the Institute has promoted cooperation with many localities to train Master of Applied Journalism to improve the quality of human resources in journalism and communication for the provinces.

Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (website://journal.ussh.vnu.edu.vn) is an official scientific publication of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, operating under license No. 155/GP-BTTTT dated May 11, 2015 of the Ministry of Information and Communications. The international standard code is ISSN 2354-1172. The mission of the Journal is defined as "a forum for academic exchange, introducing new and high-quality scientific research results on social sciences and humanities at home and abroad to serve the cause of national construction and development in the context of integration and globalization". Although only operating for 5 years, the Journal has quickly affirmed its quality and position in the system of scientific journals in the field of social sciences and humanities nationwide. The Journal is recognized by 08 Councils of Professors of various disciplines and interdisciplinary and scores the work (1 point). The Editorial Board consists of 37 scholars, including 06 foreign scholars. Each year, the Journal has 04 Vietnamese issues and 02 English issues. Up to now, the Journal has been listed in information and scientific databases at universities, research institutions, major libraries in Vietnam as well as in international databases such as: Vietnamese studies training institutions abroad, Vietnam Studies Scholars Network (VSG), cited by Google, Scholars, Worldcat, Openarchives... By 2030, the Journal strives to meet international standards to be included in the list of leading prestigious scientific journals in the region and the world (Scopus and ISI journal lists).

The Communications Department - Cooperation and Development Department is the unit that directly operates the website and official fanpage of the University. In the story that the University leaders shared, there were not only orientations on communication activities for the University in the coming period, but also expectations and wishes that the University's communication activities will increasingly improve in quality, professionalism, creativity, diversity in expression and approach to the public specific to a university. In the past school year, the Communications Department received a Certificate of Merit from the Director of Hanoi National University for its outstanding achievements in communication activities.
