Many new regulations facilitate the work of master's and doctoral students at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, said that this year's admissions process has many new features that benefit students. In particular, at the postgraduate level, there are many categories for direct admission. At the undergraduate level, this is the first time the university has applied tuition fees based on economic and technical standards for 8 training programs.

Eight training programs that meet AUN-QA accreditation standards will have tuition fees based on economic and technical norms.

The university offers a wide range of postgraduate programs, including: Journalism, Tourism Studies, Oriental Studies, Political Science, Management Science, History, Archival Studies and Office Administration, Linguistics, Anthropology, International Studies, Psychology, Information and Library Science, Religious Studies, Philosophy, Literature, Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language, Sociology, etc.

According to this year's master's admissions announcement from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, applicants for master's programs will be considered for direct admission if they meet one of the university's conditions, such as:

Graduated from a regular university program.The relevant major must be rated "Good" or higher.Within the 12-month period (up to the date of application), students must be enrolled in training programs of Hanoi National University such as: talent programs, advanced programs, international standard programs, high-quality programs (funded by the state), and training programs accredited by reputable international accreditation organizations (AUN-QA, ABET, etc.) or Vietnamese accreditation organizations recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training (for enrollment cohorts still within the validity period).

Graduated from a regular university program with a GPA of "Good" or higher.Within a period of 12 months (up to the date of application), the standard, high-quality training programs must comply with Circular 23/2014/TT-BGDĐT of Hanoi National University.

Graduated from a reputable university with a GPA of Excellent or higher in a relevant field.within a 12-month period (calculated from the date of application) of Hanoi National University.

Regarding foreign language proficiency,Applicants must possess foreign language proficiency that meets the requirements of the training program, as evidenced by one of the prescribed diplomas or certificates.

Regarding the points awarded for scientific research achievements.For student scientific research projects: + Awarded at the Vietnam National University, Hanoi or Ministry of Education and Training level: First prize: 0.2 points, second prize: 0.15 points, third prize: 0.1 points, honorable mention: 0.07 points. + Awarded at the university or faculty level: First prize: 0.1 points, second prize: 0.07 points, third prize: 0.05 points.

- For scientific articles published in ISI journals, the bonus points are 0.3; for articles published in Scopus/other international journals: 0.2 points; for articles published in the proceedings of international/national scientific conferences/seminars: 0.15 points; - Students with many achievements may accumulate bonus points, but not exceeding 0.5 points.

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, will conduct direct admissions for 2022 before 12:00 PM on April 11, 2022, immediately after the application review deadline. Results will be announced to candidates no later than one week before the entrance exam. Candidates who do not meet the direct admission criteria will be transferred to the entrance exam format during the first admission round of 2022.

For doctoral program admissions,The school will select students based on their professional evaluation records.

General requirements for doctoral candidates include a clean personal record, no ongoing criminal or disciplinary action (at the level of a warning or higher), good health for studying, a master's degree or a bachelor's degree with a GPA of "Excellent" or higher in a relevant field, or a degree equivalent to level 7 of the Vietnamese National Qualifications Framework in certain specialized fields relevant to the doctoral program. Degrees awarded by foreign educational institutions must undergo recognition procedures according to current regulations. The university also requires candidates to demonstrate research experience through a master's thesis from a research-oriented program and published works as required.

Specifically, candidates with an applied master's degree or applying from a bachelor's degree must be the author or co-author of at least one article in a specialized scientific journal or one scientific report published in the proceedings of a peer-reviewed national or international scientific conference or workshop, with an ISBN related to the field or research topic, and recognized by the professorship/associate professorship council of the discipline/interdisciplinary field.

Doctoral candidates also need a research proposal and a letter of recommendation from at least one scientist with the title of professor, associate professor, or a doctorate in science or a PhD who has collaborated professionally with the candidate and is knowledgeable in the field the candidate intends to research.
