This is the first time the school has applied a policy that candidates do not need to study the right major, but have a Bachelor's degree with honors in suitable majors to be considered for direct admission. Accordingly, Bachelors with honors in Journalism, Public Relations, International Communications, Mass Communications, etc. are directly admitted to the Master's degree in Journalism (research-oriented, application-oriented), or Journalism and Communications Management. Bachelors in Literature, Literature Pedagogy, with honors are also considered for direct admission to the Master's degree in Literature. Bachelors in Tourism and Travel Services Management, Tourism, Hotel Management or Restaurant and Catering Management with honors are all considered for direct admission to the Master's degree in Tourism. Bachelors with honors in Management Science, Political Science, Law are directly admitted to the Public Policy major... This policy is applied to all 44 Master's training majors of the school.
This year, the school also eliminated the foreign language entrance exam. Candidates for graduate school entrance exams only have to take two basic and fundamental subjects. For foreign language proficiency, candidates must demonstrate it with one of the required diplomas and certificates.
In the trend of international integration, this year, for the first time, candidates with internationally published articles will be given priority points at a very high level.cumulative GPA for direct admissionSpecifically, for scientific articles published in ISI journals, the bonus point is 0.3 points; articles published in Scopus/other international journals: 0.2 points; articles published in proceedings of international/national scientific conferences and seminars: 0.15 points. Students with many achievements will accumulate bonus points but not more than 0.5 points.
The school also encourages students with scientific research achievements by adding bonus points to graduate candidates whose scientific research projects have won awards at all levels. Specifically: Candidates who win awards at the VNU-Hanoi level or the Ministry of Education and Training level will receive 0.2 points (First prize), 0.15 points (Second prize), 0.1 points (Third prize), 0.07 points (Encouragement prize). Candidates who win awards at the school or affiliated faculty level: First prize 0.1 point, Second prize 0.07 point, Third prize 0.05 point.

Applying new policies in doctoral admissions
2022 is also the first year that the School applies a new policy in doctoral admissions. Accordingly, the School considers exempting tuition fees for doctoral students with excellent research capacity, and at the same time, proposes that the National University grant scholarships of up to 100 million VND/person/year (12 months) based on academic and research results during the standard training period. Interns are considered for scholarships of up to 120 million VND/person/year (12 months).
In addition, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities continues to enroll students for doctoral training under Project 89 of the Ministry of Education and Training, with 12 majors including Journalism, Dialectical Materialism and Historical Materialism, Southeast Asian Studies, Archeology, History of the Communist Party of Vietnam, World History, Vietnamese History, Comparative Linguistics, International Relations, Science and Technology Management, Psychology and Sociology.
According to Project 89, full-time postgraduate students in Vietnam are provided with tuition fees; living expenses; internship and conference participation fees abroad. Full-time postgraduate students abroad are provided with tuition fees; living expenses; health insurance; round-trip airfare; travel expenses (01 round-trip airport pick-up and drop-off at the beginning and end of the course); rewards; partial support for force majeure risks, transfer and receipt fees via bank and other mandatory fees as prescribed by the receiving institution.
Also from 2022, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will apply tuition fees for the university system according to economic and technical standards for 8 training majors that have been accredited by the Ministry and internationally.
