This is the first time the university has implemented a policy allowing candidates to be admitted directly without needing to have a Bachelor's degree with honors in a relevant field. Accordingly, Bachelor's degree holders with honors in Journalism, Public Relations, International Communication, Mass Communication, etc., are directly admitted to Master's programs in Journalism (research-oriented or application-oriented) or Media and Communication Management. Bachelor's degree holders in Literature or Language and Literature Education with honors are also directly admitted to Master's programs in Literature. Bachelor's degree holders in Tourism and Travel Service Management, Tourism, Hotel Management, or Restaurant and Food Service Management with honors are directly admitted to Master's programs in Tourism. Bachelor's degree holders with honors in Management Science, Political Science, or Law are directly admitted to Public Policy… This policy applies to all 44 Master's degree programs offered by the university.
This year, the university has also eliminated the foreign language entrance exam. Graduate students only need to take two basic and foundational subjects. Applicants can demonstrate their foreign language proficiency with one of the prescribed diplomas or certificates.
In the context of international integration, this year, for the first time, candidates with internationally published articles will receive a very high bonus point rate.The cumulative GPA for the entire course of study will be used for direct admission consideration.Specifically, for scientific articles published in ISI journals, the bonus points are 0.3; for articles published in Scopus/other international journals: 0.2 points; and for articles published in the proceedings of international/national scientific conferences/seminars: 0.15 points. Students with many achievements may accumulate bonus points, but not exceeding 0.5 points.
The university also encourages students with outstanding scientific research achievements by awarding bonus points to graduate students whose scientific research projects have won awards at various levels. Specifically: Students winning awards at the Vietnam National University, Hanoi or the Ministry of Education and Training level receive 0.2 points (First Prize), 0.15 points (Second Prize), 0.1 points (Third Prize), and 0.07 points (Honorable Mention). Students winning awards at the university or faculty level receive: 0.1 points for first prize, 0.07 points for second prize, and 0.05 points for third prize.

Implementing a new policy in doctoral admissions.

2022 was also the first year the University implemented a new policy for doctoral admissions. Accordingly, the University considered waiving tuition fees for doctoral students with outstanding research capabilities, and simultaneously requested the National University to grant scholarships of up to 100 million VND/person/year (12 months) based on academic and research performance during the standard training period. Interns were considered for scholarships of up to 120 million VND/person/year (12 months).
In addition, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities continues to recruit doctoral students under Project 89 of the Ministry of Education and Training, with 12 disciplines including Journalism, Dialectical Materialism and Historical Materialism, Southeast Asian Studies, Archaeology, History of the Communist Party of Vietnam, World History, Vietnamese History, Comparative Linguistics, International Relations, Science and Technology Management, Psychology and Sociology.
According to Project 89, full-time doctoral students in Vietnam are provided with tuition fees, living expenses, and funding for internships and participation in seminars abroad. Full-time doctoral students abroad are provided with tuition fees, living expenses, health insurance, one-way and return airfare, travel expenses (one-time airport transfer to and from accommodation at the beginning and end of the course), awards, partial support for force majeure risks, bank transfer fees, and other mandatory fees as stipulated by the receiving institution.
Also starting in 2022, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will apply tuition fees for undergraduate programs based on economic and technical standards for 8 accredited majors at the ministerial and international levels.
