Welcoming the delegation from Greifswald University (Federal Republic of Germany)

On October 17, 2017, Professor Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) and representatives from the Cooperation and Development Office received a delegation from Greifswald University led by Associate Professor Margit Bussmann (Head of the Department of International Relations and Area Studies).

During the meeting, Professor Pham Quang Minh briefly introduced the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, a leading institution for social sciences and humanities education in Vietnam. The Rector emphasized the University's internationalization strategy, including strengthening relations with international partners. Specifically with Germany, the University has good relations with many universities such as Humboldt University, Passau University, and Heinrich Heine Düsseldorf University. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities hopes to exchange and cooperate with Zittau/Gorlitz University through activities such as student and faculty exchanges, establishing a Vietnam-Germany-EU Research Center at the University, etc.

In response, Associate Professor Margit Bussmann, on behalf of Greifswald University, thanked the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for its warm welcome. She stated that Greifswald University is ready to welcome and partially fund Vietnamese students to study and conduct research in Germany.

On behalf of the University, Professor Pham Quang Minh pledged to create the best conditions for implementing the proposed cooperation between the two universities. The Cooperation and Development Office will serve as the point of contact between the two sides.

Greifswald University was founded in 1456 and is one of the oldest educational institutions in Europe. The university prioritizes research areas such as life sciences, physics, law, and economics. Ernst-Moritz-Arndt Greifswald University has five faculties: the Faculty of Theology, the Faculty of Law and Economics, the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Philosophy, and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.
