In his opening remarks, Comrade Khong Minh Thao - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Thanh Xuan District - warmly welcomed the presence of leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hanoi City, representatives of the Thanh Xuan District Party Committee and various departments and organizations, representatives of participating units, and more than 30 athletes from 4 units: the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hanoi University, the Regional Political Academy I, and the Thanh Xuan District Youth Union.

The friendly badminton tournament is one of the people-to-people diplomacy activities and also an annual event of the Thanh Xuan District Fatherland Front Committee. What makes this tournament special is that, in addition to Vietnamese athletes, there are also athletes from China and Laos among the participating athletes.

Following the opening ceremony, athletes competed in three events: men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities sent its Badminton Club to this year's tournament with 8 athletes who are students from the Departments of History, Philosophy, Linguistics, Vietnamese Studies, and Vietnamese Language. The university's students (including 4 Chinese students) participated in two events: mixed doubles and women's doubles.

After more than 3 hours of lively, friendly, and cooperative competition, conducted in a spirit of fair play and sportsmanship, the organizing committee awarded first, second, third, and consolation prizes to the participating teams. The team from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities won one third prize and two consolation prizes in the women's doubles category. While this wasn't the team's best achievement, the athletes and students had a very enjoyable time. Sharing his thoughts after the tournament, Ton Van Tinh (a Chinese student studying Linguistics) said, "Even though we didn't achieve the best results for the university, we were very happy today. We thank the university and the organizing committee for creating all the conditions for us to participate in the competition and interact with other units."

It can be said that the Badminton Friendship Tournament organized by the Thanh Xuan District Fatherland Front since 2015 has contributed to fostering close relationships between the district's youth union members and foreign students studying and residing in Thanh Xuan District. Participating in the tournament for the fourth consecutive time, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is considered one of the most active and leading units in the activities organized by the District Fatherland Front.
