Continuing short-term Korean language training for Samsung Electronics Vietnam's elite employees

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, delivered the opening speech at the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh shared his joy at attending the opening ceremony of the short-term Korean language course for excellent employees of Samsung Electronics Vietnam in Thai Nguyen.

Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh highly appreciated Samsung Electronics' efforts in foreign language training for local employees. This is the fourth time the school's Korean Studies Department has been trusted and chosen by the company to cooperate in organizing training for the company.

The Department of Korean Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies, with 20 years of establishment and development, has risen to the number one position in the country, and is a research and training address for Korean language that is highly appreciated by many Korean experts. In order to select, train and nurture the best students, the department only recruits about 20 to 30 full-time students each year.

Most of the staff of the industry and the faculty are very young and dynamic, with basic and high-quality training. Up to now, previous training courses have had very good feedback on the working spirit and training quality of the faculty's staff.

As a leading training institution in the field of social sciences and humanities in the country, the School always wishes to have more cooperation with the company. Through this cooperation, the School's lecturers are improved. Students have more opportunities to practice and become employees of the company.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tao Van Bach, Human Resources Director of Samsung Electronics Vietnam in Thai Nguyen, expressed his thanks to the School for cooperating in training the company's staff. The 15 students in this course are excellent students who may in the future become key managers in Samsung Vietnam in Thai Nguyen.

During the course, students need to demonstrate a spirit of hard work and initiative to maximize the learning efficiency in three months. After completing the course, the knowledge gained will be used to serve the company's operations well.

"For students who do not comply with the regulations, teachers and the school can report directly to the company so that the company can take appropriate measures to intervene and remind them, in order to ensure training quality," said Mr. Tao Van Bach.

The short-term Korean language course for Samsung Electronics Vietnam's elite employees in Thai Nguyen took place in 3 months (from February 22 to May 19, 2016). The target result after completing the course is to reach level 4 and level 5.

During the course, students will study 3 consecutive shifts each day with a total study time of 10 hours. The testing and evaluation process takes place continuously. There will be a short test of 5-10 minutes at the beginning of each class every day. There will be a one-hour test every two weeks and a comprehensive test of all listening, speaking, reading and writing skills every month.

The results of the weekly testing and evaluation process will be fed back to the company leadership.
