Attending the conference were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the University; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim, Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Rector, and Political Commissar; Mr. Nguyen Van Thuy, Head of the Inspection and Legal Affairs Department, Deputy Commander of the Military Command of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, along with members of the University's core militia and self-defense force.
At the conference, delegates listened to a report summarizing local defense and military work in 2015 and outlining tasks for 2016, presented by Comrade Nguyen Van Thuy, Deputy Commander of the Military Command of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

In 2015, the Party Committee and the School's Board of Directors paid close attention to and provided favorable conditions for the successful implementation and completion of assigned tasks in national defense and security. Party building and development were consistently prioritized and promoted by Party committees at all levels and socio-political organizations. The school proactively participated in social and charitable activities, showing gratitude and respect to those who served, and continued to maintain its support for the military.

Organize the dissemination of legal education and build a strong and comprehensive unit in accordance with Directive 917/CT-BQP of the Minister of National Defense; Organize propaganda work, seminars, and discussions on the occasion of important national events; Strictly maintain discipline and regulations on combat readiness, closely coordinate with the police force to maintain political security and order in the School; Build a strong self-defense and reserve force, especially in terms of politics; Do a good job of building and developing the Party within the armed forces of the School.
Successfully carried out preliminary selection, identified potential candidates, and called up officials and employees of eligible age to participate in the 2015 military service examination: Eight officials aged 18-27 were deemed ready for military service; dossiers were prepared for 132 students deemed ready for military service; and military service was transferred to the school during the enrollment process.
Completed the registration and management of reserve troops and technical equipment; organized a core militia force of 22 members, including one platoon leader and three squads; conducted national defense education and training in accordance with Circular 176/2011/TT-BQP of the Ministry of National Defense.
In 2015, the School's Military Command launched emulation movements throughout the entire force, responding to the campaigns of the Party and the State. The school's staff actively participated and achieved many high results: the school as a whole was awarded the Emulation Flag of the Ministry of Education and Training, and individual units received numerous medals, commendations, and certificates of merit from the Party and the State. The school's self-defense force was a unit of decisive victory; the collective achieved outstanding results in the emulation movement of decisive victory of the armed forces of Thanh Xuan District in 2015.
On behalf of the Military Command of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Comrade Nguyen Van Thuy also presented the plan and key tasks for 2016.

Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the University, is giving a directive speech at the conference.
In his directive speech at the conference, Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh, the Rector of the School, requested that the School's Military Command continue to promote learning and training in 2016. Training should be organized centrally in the Hoa Lac area, aiming for focused and highly effective training.
In addition, the School's Military Command also organizes activities to support the school's security team in ensuring workplace safety, such as fire prevention, theft prevention, and promptly preventing subversive propaganda from external organizations.
The School's Military Command also needs to strengthen its relationship with veterans' associations through exchange activities, teaching, and battlefield visits to promote national pride and spirit.
"Regarding the management of student readiness for military service, the University's Military Command should coordinate more with the faculties because the faculties are closer to the students and can easily track the number of students transferring each year," said Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh.

Speaking at the conference, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim, Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Rector of the School, highly appreciated the results achieved by the School's Military Command in 2015. This was evidenced by the outstanding achievements and the title of "Unit of Decisive Victory" for 15 years.
To maintain and further develop achievements in the future, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim suggested that the School's Military Command should focus on several key areas, such as:
- Thoroughly understand the spirit, guidelines, and policies of the Party and the State regarding national defense and security.
- Continue to build strong militia platoons and uphold the banner of decisive victory.
- Organize training sessions effectively; ensure a stable learning environment and school security.
- To fulfill the military responsibilities and obligations of all staff, lecturers, and students in the entire school.
- Coordinate defense and security work with functional departments within the school, with veterans' associations, etc., to jointly implement tasks in 2016.
