Conference on deploying local military defense work in 2016

Attending the conference were Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Quang Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Principal of the University; Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Kim, Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Principal of the University, political commissar; MSc. Nguyen Van Thuy, Head of the Inspection and Legal Department, Deputy Commander, Military Command of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and comrades in the core militia and self-defense force of the University.

At the conference, delegates listened to the report summarizing the local military defense work in 2015 and deploying tasks in 2016 presented by comrade Nguyen Van Thuy, Deputy Commander, Military Command of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Some key achievements in 2015:

In 2015, the Party Committee and the School Board of Directors paid attention to and directed the national defense and security work, creating favorable conditions for the implementation and successful completion of assigned tasks. The work of Party building and development has always been focused on and promoted by Party committees at all levels and socio-political organizations. The School has proactively participated in social activities, charity, gratitude, and military rear work continues to be maintained.

MSc. Nguyen Van Thuy, Deputy Commander, Military Command of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, is presenting a report at the conference.

Organize legal education and dissemination, build a strong and comprehensive unit according to Directive 917/CT-BQP of the Minister of National Defense; Organize propaganda work, seminars and talks on the occasion of important events of the country; Strictly maintain discipline and combat readiness regulations, closely coordinate with the police force to maintain political security, order and safety of the School; Build a strong self-defense force, reserve mobilization, especially in politics; Do a good job of building and developing the Party in the School's armed forces.

Do a good job of preliminary selection, source, and call for officers and civil servants of military service age to participate in the 2015 military service examination: The number of officers ready to join the army from 18 to 27 years old is 8 officers, create a record of students ready to join the army, register for military service transfer to the school when doing admission procedures for 132 students.

Complete the registration of reserve army and technical equipment management; Organize the core militia force of 22 comrades, including one platoon leader and three squads; Education and training in national defense knowledge are carried out in accordance with Circular 176/2011/TT-BQP of the Ministry of National Defense.

In 2015, the School Military Command launched emulation movements throughout the force, responding to the campaigns of the Party and the State. The collective of the School's staff actively participated and achieved many high results: the School was awarded the Emulation Flag of the Ministry of Education and Training, individual units were awarded many Medals, Certificates of Merit, and Certificates of Merit from the Party and the State. The School's self-defense force is a determined unit; the collective achieved excellent results in the emulation movement to win the armed forces of Thanh Xuan District in 2015.

On behalf of the Military Command of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, comrade Nguyen Van Thuy also presented the plan and key tasks in 2016.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Principal of the School, is giving a speech at the conference.

Speaking at the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh, Principal of the School, suggested that the School's Military Command should continue to promote learning and training in 2016. Training should be organized centrally in the Hoa Lac area, aiming for a spirit of focused and highly effective training.

In addition, the School Military Command also organizes activities to support the School security team in ensuring workplace safety such as fire prevention, anti-theft, and timely prevention of anti-propaganda phenomena from outside organizations.

The School's Military Command also needs to strengthen relations with the veterans' association in exchange activities, teaching and visiting battlefields to promote national spirit and pride.

"Regarding the management of students ready to join the army, the School's Military Command should coordinate more with the faculties because the faculties will be the units closest to the students, easily grasping the number of students moving each year," said Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Quang Minh.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim, Party Secretary, Vice Principal of the School gave a speech at the conference.

Speaking at the conference, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim, Party Secretary and Vice Principal of the School, highly appreciated the results achieved by the School's Military Command in 2015. This was demonstrated through the golden board of achievements and the title of 15 years of winning units.

To continue to maintain and promote achievements in the coming time, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim recommends that in the coming time, the School's Military Command should focus on some main content areas such as:

- Thoroughly grasp the spirit, guidelines and policies of the Party and State on national defense and security issues.

- Continue to build a strong militia platoon, upholding the flag of victory.

- Organize training sessions well; ensure a stable learning environment and school security.

- Fulfill the responsibilities and military obligations of staff, lecturers and students throughout the school.

- Coordinate national defense and security work with functional departments in the school, with the veterans association... to jointly implement tasks in 2016.
