On May 4, 2012, the Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized a competition to learn about Ho Chi Minh's ideology. After four rounds of competition (Greetings, Obstacle Course, Talent, and Oratory), the team from the Political Science Faculty's Youth Union excellently won first prize. This year's competition featured 15 teams representing the student unions and affiliated branches. After the preliminary round, the organizing committee selected the five best teams for the main competition. These were the student unions of the Faculties of Political Science, History, Archival Studies & Office Management, Philosophy, and the branch of the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language. The competition aimed to motivate students and union members to study and follow President Ho Chi Minh's teachings, consolidate their learned knowledge, and further explore his ideology. Simultaneously, the competition provided an opportunity for the participating units to interact, learn from each other, and foster positive relationships in response to the "Studying and Following the Moral Example of Ho Chi Minh" campaign.

After more than two hours and four rounds of competition, the contest concluded with the first prize going to the Faculty of Political Science.
