The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities), Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Party Secretary, Vice Rector of the University), Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh (former Party Secretary, former Rector, Chairman of the University's Science and Training Council), and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Thach (Head of the Faculty of Literature).

Professor Pham Quang Minh stated: “Professor Pham Quang Long dedicated almost his entire life to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Whether as an educator, scientist, or administrator, he has always excelled in his duties.”
From a research perspective, he left behind many impactful works. As an educator, he dedicated his passion and knowledge to passing it on to generations of students. Students spread word about his character and passion for the profession. These are invaluable assets that an educator can possess.

Associate Professor Pham Quang Long's contributions to management were also significant. He served as Head of the Faculty of Literature, then was elected Vice Rector and Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and later Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture. As Rector of the University, he left behind the image of an energetic, insightful, and dedicated leader committed to the University's development. The foundations he and the first generations of leaders laid are crucial to the University's development today.

Professor Nguyen Van Khanh shared that Associate Professor Pham Quang Long started his managerial role very early on and, in particular, was the one who "took the lead" during difficult times for the unit or the industry. With his intellectual acumen and vision, he made significant contributions to the unit in its early stages of establishment. And above all, regardless of the circumstances, he was always loved and admired by his subordinates for his sincerity, approachability, and harmonious nature.

Speaking on behalf of the Faculty of Literature, Associate Professor Pham Xuan Thach stated: The period when Associate Professor Pham Quang Long led the Faculty of Literature was a time of great success in transitioning from the Soviet university model to a new one. The Faculty of Literature contributed to the University's mission of pioneering research and teaching in the social sciences and humanities. Many other academic disciplines that the University and Vietnam National University, Hanoi are currently pioneering were established within the Faculty of Literature, Hanoi University, when Professor Long was its leader. He left behind a valuable lesson for his colleagues and future generations about vision, emphasizing that "without a vision, an institution cannot develop."

Associate Professor Pham Quang Long donated 50 million VND to the Faculty of Literature to provide scholarships for underprivileged students who have overcome difficulties.
In recent years, since returning to work at the Faculty of Literature, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Long has made very positive contributions to the faculty's professional work. He continues to conduct scientific research, write, plan topics, and create literary scripts. He is completely adept at keeping up with current events, quickly updating himself with scientific information and always offering insightful opinions on the development of Vietnamese literature. He is a clear example that: no matter what position or job one holds, if one maintains a sincere heart and dedication to their profession and to life, they will never be forgotten.

Listening to the shared experiences of his colleagues and students, Associate Professor Pham Quang Long shared: “I am grateful for the affection and kind words everyone has given me, but I also understand that in life, there are things I have accomplished, but there are also many things I have yet to complete... But as a student and a staff member of the University, I always bear in mind that no matter what I do or what position I hold, I will never let it negatively impact the University. Everything I have achieved today is largely thanks to the help of the University, my colleagues, and my students.”

Associate Professor Pham Quang Long wished the University and the Faculty continued strength in difficult times and further development, worthy of being a traditional and prestigious training institution nationwide. He also expressed his wish to donate 50 million VND to be used as scholarships for underprivileged students in the Faculty of Literature.
