Attending the event were Mr. Phan Xuan Dung – Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology and Environment; Mr. Nguyen Quan – Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Minister of Science and Technology; Mr. Tran Quang Quy – Deputy Minister of Education and Training; Mr. Nguyen Thai Lai – Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, along with representatives from various departments, bureaus, institutes, ministries, government agencies, and some localities.
In his opening remarks at the conference, the Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU), Phung Xuan Nha, affirmed that VNU is in the process of building and developing according to a research-oriented direction. VNU always identifies that its science and technology activities must aim at improving the quality of undergraduate and postgraduate training. Research activities are implemented in four main directions: Natural Sciences - Medicine, Science and Technology - Engineering, Social Sciences and Humanities, and Interdisciplinary Sciences, aiming to create national products with practical applications to serve humanity.

Assessing the significance of this exhibition and conference on the commercialization of science and technology products, Director Phung Xuan Nha stated: this is an opportunity to introduce typical science and technology products of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, thereby connecting scientists, businesses, and managers in ministries, sectors, and localities; contributing to deepening cooperative relationships and promoting the commercialization of science and technology products of Vietnam National University, Hanoi. In particular, through this event, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, businesses, and society want to express their appreciation and recognition of the intellect, dedication, and contributions of scientists.
Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) currently has 349 Professors and Associate Professors (18%), and 839 Doctors of Science and PhDs (44%). In addition, approximately 300 highly qualified scientists from Vietnam and abroad come to work at VNU annually. VNU also has 33 honorary PhDs, including many Nobel laureates, economic and political activists, etc. These are strong scientific and technological potentials of VNU.
In recent years, international publication has become a quality culture within Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU). After 20 years of development, the number of international articles in the ISI system published by VNU has increased approximately 20 times (10 articles/year in 1993, nearly 200 articles/year in 2013), accounting for more than 10% of the total number of ISI articles nationwide. Many articles have a high number of citations (from 50 to 500). The fields of social sciences and humanities, economics, and law have also published nearly 100 articles in international ISI journals. These are important indicators assessing both the research level and the degree of integration of VNU.
During the 2014-2015 period, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) prioritized the development and implementation of key research programs aimed at producing commercially viable science and technology products and solutions in the following four areas: Natural Sciences and Medicine: creating a foundation for improving the quality of life; Technology and Engineering: promoting the development of the electronics and automation industries; Social Sciences, Humanities and Economics: building the theoretical foundation for innovation with key research programs on culture and society; Interdisciplinary Sciences: focusing on research programs on Sustainable Development in the Northwest, Near Real-Time Field Surveillance Technology, and Non-Traditional Security.

At the conference, Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Quan highly appreciated the outstanding achievements in scientific research activities of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU), especially congratulating VNU on having scientific and technological products with practical applications transferred to localities and businesses, as well as having valuable scientific publications in leading international scientific journals. With the motto "science for humanity" and "science for businesses," VNU has made efforts in commercializing scientific and technological products, creating a link between the university and businesses, and bringing scientific and technological products into practical application.
The Minister also called on businesses, especially state-owned economic corporations, to cooperate closely with universities and research institutes, commissioning them to develop science and technology tasks, topics, and projects to produce high-quality products.
At the conference, Minister Nguyen Quan awarded a certificate of merit to Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) for its outstanding contributions to science and technology activities. In the presence of Minister Nguyen Quan, VNU leaders, along with representatives from various ministries, departments, and VNU units, signed 12 cooperation agreements and agreements on technology transfer, scientific and technological products, and consulting cooperation with Ha Nam province and various companies and businesses.
At this exhibition and conference on the commercialization of science and technology products, 26 outstanding science and technology products of Vietnam National University, Hanoi were introduced, many of which have been successfully applied and transferred.

At this exhibition, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities showcased its outstanding and distinctive scientific research results over the past nearly seven decades, especially scientific works that have won the Ho Chi Minh Prize and the State Prize, recent archaeological excavation results from the Museum of Anthropology, and multimedia products produced using the modern machinery and equipment of the Center for Journalism and Communication... The University's exhibition booth attracted many visitors due to its unique and culturally rich design and presentation.
