Honoring 226 outstanding young faces at the grassroots level

On the morning of December 4, 2013, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a ceremony to honor outstanding young faces at the grassroots level in 2013.

The 226 outstanding young faces at the grassroots level this year are young cadres, students, graduate students, and researchers who have achieved many outstanding achievements in teaching, scientific research, studying, and have contributed to the Youth Union and Association movements of the University. Among the outstanding young faces at the grassroots level in 2013, there are 4 young cadres and 15 students recognized as Outstanding Young Faces at VNU level.

On behalf of the school's leadership, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Vice Principal) congratulated and recognized the outstanding achievements and contributions of lecturers, young staff, students, postgraduate students, and doctoral students in the past school year. The Vice Principal emphasized: 226 outstanding young faces are typical examples of many outstanding achievements in teaching, management, study, scientific research, Youth Union and Association movements, and social activities of units in the whole school. The Vice Principal hopes that all staff and students of the school will continue to make more efforts in studying and scientific research so that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will increasingly have a worthy position in the country's intellectual, scientific and technological incubator.

At the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu (Head of the Department of Politics and Student Affairs) presented a summary report on the outstanding achievements of students, young staff of the School in general and typical young faces in particular.

In the 2012-2013 school year, the School Principal awarded certificates of merit to 61 students with excellent academic results, 60 students who were class officers, union officers, and association officers with many achievements in studying and working, and 56 students with difficult circumstances who had made great efforts to study well. In particular, 40 young officers achieved the title of emulation fighters at the grassroots level.

Regarding scientific research, in the 2012-2013 school year, 17.5% of students conducted scientific research with 684 projects. Of these, 02 projects won the “Young Scientific Talent” award from the Ministry of Education and Training; 05 projects won the “Student Scientific Research” award from Hanoi National University.

For young staff, the School has organized a Scientific Conference for young staff, creating conditions and encouraging young staff with a master's degree or higher to register for group A and B topics of Hanoi National University and the National Science and Technology Fund. 100% of the basic level topics for young staff are doctoral students and graduate students.

In addition to the core tasks of studying, teaching, serving teaching and scientific research, the outstanding young faces also actively participate, contribute and achieve many achievements in social and cultural activities. Organizing many volunteer and charity activities: summer volunteer activities with more than 400 students participating; humanitarian blood donation activities with the result of more than 400 units of blood...; participating in cultural and sports activities organized by Hanoi National University and the Ministry of Education and Training. Especially in the 2012-2013 school year, the School had 41 students and 5 young cadres honored to join the Party, reaching 115% of the target.
