The meeting focused on specific collaborative activities between the two universities. Specifically, Silpakorn University invited the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to co-organize an international conference on Asian studies to be held in early 2015, along with many other leading universities from Japan and South Korea. The conference will focus on topics such as: multifaceted interactions between East Asia and South Asia; regional studies; social science and humanities issues related to language, history, psychology, anthropology, political science, economics, geography, communication, library science, and other interdisciplinary sciences…
In addition, the two universities also agreed to strengthen student and faculty exchange activities in the future. Associate Professor Tran Thi Minh Hoa affirmed that, as a prestigious university in training and research in social sciences and humanities, the University has particularly extensive experience in training and research in Vietnamese language, Vietnamese culture, and Vietnamese studies. The University's Thai Studies program is also quite developed, and every year the University sends students and faculty to exchange programs and conduct research at leading universities in Thailand. These are important foundations for bringing about effective cooperation results between the two universities in the future.
