On November 26, 2013, Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh – Vice Rector of the University – met and worked with Dr. Heinrich Geiger – Head of the Asia Department of the Catholic Academic Exchange Foundation of Germany (KAAD). Also in attendance was Associate Professor Nguyen Vu Hao – lecturer in the Philosophy Department.

During the meeting, Dr. Heinrich Geiger introduced the activities ofCatholic Academic Exchange Fund of the Federal Republic of GermanyHe stated: To date, the Foundation has awarded 150 scholarships to Vietnamese scientists. Currently, 25 Vietnamese scientists are studying and conducting research in Germany under the Foundation's scholarship program in the fields of natural sciences and social sciences. Dr. Heinrich Geiger affirmed that KAAD is always ready to support the establishment and development of cooperative relationships between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and universities in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh thanked the Foundation for its support of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and expressed his hope that the Foundation would create favorable conditions for the University's staff to have the opportunity to receive scholarships from the Foundation. The Vice Rector emphasized that the Foundation will be an important bridge in the process of building and developing good cooperative relations between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and German universities. He hoped that in the future, the two sides would cooperate in organizing scientific seminars and international scientific conferences on topics of mutual interest such as culture, traditional and modern values, and East-West relations…

The Catholic Academic Exchange Foundation of Germany is a non-governmental organization that provides scholarships to postgraduate students and scientists from Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, and Southeast Europe. It is known that Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Vu Hao – a lecturer in the Philosophy Department – ​​previously received a scholarship from the Foundation and completed his doctoral dissertation on Western Philosophy.
