The theme of the seminar, held on November 25th, was "Comparing the Economic, Political, and Socialist Development of China and Vietnam."

In his opening remarks at the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim emphasized: The conference, organized by the Department of Political Science at National Taiwan University, takes place against the backdrop of Vietnam's active preparations for summarizing the fundamental and outstanding achievements after 30 years of reform. Similarly, in China, since implementing its reform and opening-up policy in 1978, China has achieved many important results. However, after more than three decades of rapid development, China is facing significant challenges in all aspects: political, economic, social, and cultural… This is the first international conference between two leading universities in Taiwan and Vietnam, an effort by the leadership and experts to contribute to clarifying and resolving some aspects and issues in the reform and opening-up process over the past three decades in both Vietnam and China.
