Discussion on cooperation with Hanoi Open University

On the morning of August 28, 2019, Professor Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University), along with representatives from the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language, the Training Department, and the Cooperation and Development Department, held a working meeting with a delegation from the Hanoi Open University, led by Dr. Truong Tien Tung (Rector).

Discussion on cooperation with Hanoi Open University

During the meeting, Professor Pham Quang Minh briefly introduced the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, a traditional training institution with a highly qualified and professional faculty. The university has established cooperative relationships with over 400 domestic and international partners; and offers diverse training programs at various levels, from undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees to short-term courses.

On behalf of the Open University, Dr. Truong Tien Tung stated that the Open University annually has a rich and diverse student body with varying ages and learning needs. He proposed that the Open University and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities sign a cooperation agreement. The Open University could leverage its strength in applying information technology to implement joint training programs between the two universities.

Following the initial exchange, representatives from both departments discussed in detail the options for developing cooperation frameworks between the two universities.

Established in 1993, Hanoi Open University is a multi-level, multi-disciplinary, multi-field public higher education institution with a high degree of autonomy and accountability within the Vietnamese education system. The university has trained approximately 50,000 students. It comprises 12 faculties: Faculty of Economics; Faculty of English; Faculty of Chinese; Faculty of Tourism; Faculty of Information Technology; Faculty of Electronic and Information Technology; Faculty of Finance and Banking; Faculty of Biotechnology; Faculty of Architecture; Faculty of Industrial Design; Faculty of Law; and Faculty of Distance Learning.
