The workshop was organized with the sponsorship of the Korea Foundation, the Korea Research Institute, and the Centre for Korean Studies (University of New South Wales, Australia). The delegation from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, led by Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu (Vice Rector of the University), along with other members, also participated in the workshop and presented papers. During the workshop, researchers focused on discussing issues such as: educational reform and international cooperation between Southeast Asia and Korea in the Asian era; sharing visions on Korean studies training in Southeast Asia; Korean language training in the era of internationalization of higher education; Korean language teaching and comparative research between Southeast Asia and Korea in the context of Asian globalization, innovation in higher education and research, and Korean teaching...

Alongside the workshop, two events were held: the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between the University of New South Wales (Australia) and members of the Association for Korean Studies in Southeast Asia, including the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, on the following topics: student exchange, faculty exchange, and academic exchange. Accordingly, the University of New South Wales will annually award doctoral scholarships to two research students, one staff member and one student from participating universities, to study at the University of New South Wales, starting in 2015.
In addition, the Korea Institute (University of New South Wales) also signed an ASEAN-Korea cooperation agreement on organizing comparative public policy research to further promote public policy research in Southeast Asian countries and Korea.
The 6th Korean Studies Conference, organized by KoSASA in collaboration with the University of Malaya, was a great success. The 7th conference will be held at the University of the Philippines (Philippines).
