The workshop was organized with the sponsorship of the Korea Foundation, the Institute of Korean Studies and the Center for Korean Studies (University of New South Wales, Australia). The delegation of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities led by Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu (Vice Rector of the University) and other members also participated in the workshop and presented reports. In this workshop, researchers focused on discussing the following issues: educational reform and international cooperation between Southeast Asia and Korea in the Asian era; sharing visions on Korean studies training in Southeast Asia; Korean language training in the era of internationalization of higher education; Korean language teaching and comparative research between Southeast Asia and Korea in the context of Asian globalization, innovation in higher education and research, Korean teaching...

Along with the conference, there were two events held: the signing ceremony of a cooperation document between the University of New South Wales (Australia) and members of the Association for Korean Studies in Southeast Asia, including the University of Social Sciences and Humanities on the following contents: student exchange, lecturer exchange, academic exchange. Accordingly, every year, the University of New South Wales will grant doctoral scholarships to 02 doctoral students who are staff and students of the schools to study at the University of New South Wales starting from 2015.
In addition, the Institute of Korean Studies (University of New South Wales) also signed a cooperation agreement on ASEAN – Korea on organizing comparative public policy research to further promote public policy research in Southeast Asian countries and Korea.
The 6th Conference on Korean Studies organized by KoSASA in collaboration with the University of Malaya was a great success. The 7th Conference will be held at the University of the Philippines.
