Opening the series of events, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Principal of the University) on behalf of the University's Board of Directors presented Decision No. 2954/QD-XHNV-TC appointing Deputy Head of the Faculty of Anthropology, Dr. Nguyen Vu Hoang. Thus, the leadership team of the Faculty of Anthropology, University of Social Sciences and Humanities has now been completed.
Dr. Nguyen Vu Hoang has a PhD in cultural and social anthropology from the University of Toronto, Canada; and a master's degree from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, the Netherlands in 2007 with a thesis on the impacts of urbanization on people in Hanoi, Vietnam. Dr. Nguyen Vu Hoang's main research interests are urban anthropology, transnational anthropology, globalization, ethnic policy, and heritage anthropology.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Rector) expressed his joy at being appointed a new Deputy Dean who is capable, well-trained and dedicated to his work. Rector Hoang Anh Tuan also expressed his hope that Dr. Nguyen Vu Hoang in his new position will make good use of his knowledge, experience, initiative and creativity, especially the international experiences he has accumulated to successfully complete the assigned tasks. The school and the Faculty leadership team will always be ready to accompany and support the new Deputy Dean in the upcoming journey.

Dr. Nguyen Vu Hoang expressed his gratitude for the good wishes from the Principal and pledged to strive to successfully carry out the two assigned tasks of scientific research and quality assurance. The new Deputy Head of the Faculty hopes to receive support and cooperation from the leadership, staff, lecturers and students to promote all activities, in order to enhance the position and contribute to the development of the Faculty and the University in general.

Next, the Faculty of Anthropology awarded the Phan Huu Dat Prize to outstanding students and trainees. The Phan Huu Dat Prize Fund was established in 2011, based on the voluntary contribution of Prof. Dr. People's Teacher Phan Huu Dat - a great scientist in the field of Demography and Anthropology, who has made many contributions to the development of the Faculty and the University. The prize is a great source of encouragement for students pursuing Anthropology, demonstrating the University's interest in one of the important basic fields of study.
This year, the Fund awarded 13 scholarships (worth 1 million VND/scholarship) to 12 full-time students, 01 graduate student of the Faculty of Anthropology with high achievements in studying, scientific research, many contributions to the work of the Youth Union - Association, students of the XH-2021 course with high results in university admissions; awarded 01 Collective Award (worth 3 million VND/scholarship) to 10 students of the Faculty of Anthropology with efforts to rise up during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Suu chaired the Training Course "Network Ethnology"
After the Phan Huu Dat Award Ceremony, there was a training course on “Network Ethnography”. The training course aims to equip students, trainees and postgraduates of Anthropology with the latest methodological knowledge of Anthropology in the world. The training course provides knowledge on Network Ethnography, an effective solution for Anthropology students to continue their scientific research, carry out theses, dissertations and dissertations according to a new approach suitable to the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is also an activity of the Faculty of Anthropology to unify innovation, response and adaptation in teaching, scientific research combining online and in-person in the context of the current COVID-19 pandemic.
At the training course, 10 anthropologists working at the Faculty of Anthropology, the Institute of Ethnology and the French Institute for Development Studies presented and trained students, trainees and postgraduates of the Faculty of Anthropology on the following contents: From Ethnology to Cyber Ethnology; Cyber Sociality; Research on Cyber Sociality; Cyber Ethnology; Planning and Preparation; Research Ethics; Collecting Documents; Researchers and Participation in Collecting and Creating Documents; Analyzing and Interpreting Documents; Representativeness; Humanistic Cyber Ethnology.
