Enhancing leadership and management capabilities at the departmental level.

On March 27, 2021, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, in collaboration with the Hanoi University of Interior Affairs, inaugurated a training course for departmental-level leadership and management. The course was attended by 50 participants, including leaders and officials slated for leadership positions as heads or deputy heads of faculties and institutes under the university.

The course comprises a total of 160 hours, running from March 27th to June 19th. This includes 116 hours of knowledge and skills training for department-level leadership (9 hours), 24 hours of practical experience reporting (3 topics), and 19 hours of surveys, essay writing, and closing ceremony. Experts from the Center for Public Service, Hanoi University of Interior Affairs, are responsible for teaching and guiding the trainees throughout the course. Upon completion, trainees will receive a leadership and management certificate according to the training program.

During the course, participants are equipped with and updated on fundamental knowledge and skills in leadership, management, direction, and operation to contribute to improving the capacity and performance of duties and responsibilities of departmental-level leaders in the process of administrative reform, international integration, and building a rule of law state.

In his opening remarks, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector in charge of the University), representing the University's leadership, emphasized the significance of the course. The course addresses the practical needs of management and administration at all levels, focusing on the faculty and department levels, to effectively implement the appointment and reappointment procedures for important positions within the University. Simultaneously, the course aims to improve and enhance the quality of the University's leadership team, enabling them to keep pace with new job requirements and foster innovation in management. The knowledge and skills gained from the course will make a practical contribution to the management work of the faculty members.

Professor Hoang Anh Tuan urged the leaders to focus intensely, dedicate maximum time, and complete the course with the best possible results. He also emphasized the need for frank discussions about practical issues encountered in their management activities in order to find solutions.

Dr. Ha Quang Ngoc presented the topic "Overview of leadership and management capabilities at the departmental level".

Next, the leaders listened to Dr. Ha Quang Ngoc (Senior Lecturer at the Public Service Center) lecture on two topics: "Overview of leadership and management capabilities at the departmental level" and "Advisory skills".
