The Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, was approved by the 14th National Assembly to hold the position of Minister of Education and Training.

This morning, April 8, 2021, at the 11th session of the 14th National Assembly, National Assembly deputies voted to approve the Resolution ratifying the appointment of two Deputy Prime Ministers, several Ministers, and other members of the Government. The Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Nguyen Kim Son, was approved by the National Assembly to hold the position of Minister of Education and Training.

Before voting to pass the Resolution, the National Assembly heard a report from Standing Committee member Nguyen Thi Thanh, on behalf of the Standing Committee, on the results of discussions within the delegations regarding the proposal to approve the appointment of two Deputy Prime Ministers, several Ministers, and other members of the Government.

Next, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh reported to the National Assembly on the explanation and acceptance of opinions from National Assembly deputies regarding the proposed ratification.

The National Assembly approved the proposed appointments of two Deputy Prime Ministers, several Ministers, and other members of the Government through a secret ballot.

Following the announcement of the vote count results, with 455 out of 459 delegates voting in favor, the National Assembly passed a resolution approving the appointment of two Deputy Prime Ministers, several ministers, and other members of the Government.

According to the Resolution, Le Minh Khai, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and Inspector General of the Government, and Le Van Thanh, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee, were approved by the National Assembly for appointment as Deputy Prime Ministers.

The National Assembly approved the appointment of 12 individuals to ministerial and departmental positions, including:

- Mr. Phan Van Giang, member of the Politburo of the 13th Party Congress, Chief of the General Staff, and Deputy Minister of National Defense, has been approved for appointment as Minister of National Defense.

- Mr. Bui Thanh Son, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, has been approved for appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

- Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Interior, and Deputy Head of the Central Organization Department, has been approved for appointment as Minister of the Ministry of Interior.

- Mr. Ho Duc Phoc, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Auditor General of the State, has been approved for appointment as Minister of Finance.

- Mr. Tran Van Son, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Permanent Deputy Head of the Government Office, has been approved for appointment as Minister and Head of the Government Office.

- Mr. Le Minh Hoan, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, has been approved for appointment as Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.

- Mr. Nguyen Hong Dien, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, has been approved for appointment as Minister of Industry and Trade.

- Mr. Nguyen Kim Son, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Director of Hanoi National University, has been approved for appointment as Minister of Education and Training.

- Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, has been approved for appointment as Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

- Mr. Hau A Lenh, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Vice Chairman and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, has been approved for appointment as Minister and Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities.

- Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Minister of Construction, has been approved for appointment as Minister of Construction.

- Mr. Doan Hong Phong, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Secretary of the Nam Dinh Provincial Party Committee, has been approved for appointment as Inspector General of the Government.

Previously, from January 25th to February 1st, 2021, at the 13th National Congress of the Party, the Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Nguyen Kim Son was elected as a full member of the Central Committee of the Party.
