Director of VNU was approved by the 14th National Assembly to hold the position of Minister of Education and Training

Before voting to pass the Resolution, the National Assembly listened to Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh, on behalf of the National Assembly Standing Committee, report on the results of the discussion at the delegation on the proposal to approve the appointment of two Deputy Prime Ministers, a number of Ministers and other members of the Government.

Next, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh reported to the National Assembly on the explanation and acceptance of National Assembly deputies' opinions on the proposal for approval.

The National Assembly approved the proposal to appoint two Deputy Prime Ministers, a number of Ministers and other members of the Government by secret ballot.

After the vote counting results were announced, with 455/459 delegates voting in favor, the National Assembly voted to pass the Resolution approving the appointment of 2 Deputy Prime Ministers, a number of ministers and other members of the Government.

According to the Resolution, Party Central Committee Secretary, Government Inspector General Le Minh Khai and Party Central Committee member, Hai Phong City Party Committee Secretary Le Van Thanh were approved by the National Assembly to be appointed as Deputy Prime Ministers.

The 12 personnel approved by the National Assembly for appointment to the positions of Minister and head of industry include:

- Mr. Phan Van Giang, member of the 13th Politburo, Chief of the General Staff, Deputy Minister of National Defense, was approved for appointment as Minister of National Defense.

- Mr. Bui Thanh Son, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, was approved for appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

- Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee, was approved to be appointed Minister of Home Affairs.

- Mr. Ho Duc Phoc, member of the Party Central Committee, State Auditor General, was approved for appointment as Minister of Finance.

- Mr. Tran Van Son, member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Head of the Government Office, was approved for appointment as Minister and Head of the Government Office.

- Mr. Le Minh Hoan, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, was approved for appointment as Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.

- Mr. Nguyen Hong Dien, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, was approved to be appointed Minister of Industry and Trade.

- Mr. Nguyen Kim Son, member of the Party Central Committee, Director of Hanoi National University, was approved for appointment as Minister of Education and Training.

- Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, was approved to be appointed Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

- Mr. Hau A Lenh, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, was approved for appointment as Minister and Chairman of the Ethnic Committee.

- Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Construction, was approved for appointment as Minister of Construction.

- Mr. Doan Hong Phong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Nam Dinh Provincial Party Committee, was approved for appointment as Government Inspector General.

Previously, from January 25, 2021 to February 1, 2021 at the 13th National Congress of the Party, VNU President Nguyen Kim Son was elected as an official member of the Party Central Committee.
