1. Mục đích và đối tượng nghiên cứu của luận án

- Mục đích: Qua khảo sát những tư liệu liên quan đến vấn đề đồng tính luyến ái trong văn xuôi Việt Nam giai đoạn từ đầu thế kỷ XX đến thời điểm hiện tại, chúng tôi hướng đến tái dựng diện mạo mảng văn xuôi đồng tính trong một cái nhìn xuyên suốt và hệ thống cũng như bàn luận việc tiếp nhận nó trong bối cảnh hiện nay. Đồng thời, góp phần khẳng định tính khả thi của một hướng nghiên cứu còn khá mới của văn học Việt Nam đương đại.

- Đối tượng: Luận án nghiên cứu bộ phận văn xuôi Việt Nam hiện đại (đã xuất bản) thuộc hai phương thức chính là ký và hư cấu liên quan đến đề tài đồng tính.

- Phạm vi nghiên cứu: Các tác phẩm tự sự bao gồm truyện ngắn, tiểu thuyết, hồi ký, tự truyện... từ đầu thế kỷ XX đến nay. Những tác phẩm thuộc bộ phận văn học đô thị miền Nam, tác phẩm của những nhà văn người Việt ở hải ngoại cũng như các tác phẩm của bộ phận văn học mạng chỉ được nhắc đến như một kênh thông tin tham khảo giúp làm sáng tỏ thêm cho các kết luận khoa học chứ không phải là đối tượng khảo sát chính của Luận án.

2. Các phương pháp nghiên cứu đã sử dụng

- Luận án sử dụng 3 phương pháp chủ yếu: phương pháp hệ thống – cấu trúc, phương pháp nghiên cứu liên ngành, phương pháp so sánh. Các phương pháp này ngoài việc nhằm làm sáng tỏ những thành tựu cũng như hạn chế của bộ phận văn xuôi đồng tính trong dòng chảy phong phú của thể loại còn làm rõ mối liên hệ của nó với các ngành khoa học gần gũi như đồng tính học, phân tâm học, xã hội học...  

3. Các kết quả chính và kết luận

3.1. Các kết quả chính

- Về mặt lý thuyết: Ngoài giới thuyết về nội hàm của một số khái niệm như đồng tính luyến ái, queer, cảm quan đồng tính…luận án đã khái quát lại các vấn đề về lí thuyết đồng tính (còn gọi là lí thuyết lệch pha) cùng một số lí thuyết liên quan khác như thuyết nữ quyền đồng tính, thuyết phân tâm .

- Về mặt thực tiễn:

+ Thứ nhất, luận án góp phần bổ sung thêm một hướng nghiên cứu mới về văn xuôi Việt Nam đương đại – hướng nghiên cứu từ lý thuyết đồng tính (lệch pha).

+ Thứ hai, về mặt nhận thức luận: Luận án không chỉ có giá trị nhất định trong việc đánh giá vấn đề người đồng tính về mặt xã hội học, phân tâm học, nhân học và văn hóa mà còn góp phần điều chỉnh một số nhận thức trong quản lý xã hội.

3.2. Kết luận

 - Một là, văn xuôi đề tài đồng tính vốn vẫn bị xem là văn học ngoại biên, nhạy cảm, phức tạp. Nghiên cứu mảng văn học này từ góc độ văn học sử là một cách gạn lọc những “mảnh vụn” trong quá khứ chưa được quan tâm thỏa đáng.

-  Hai là, khai thác trên cả hai góc nhìn diện và điểm, văn xuôi đề tài đồng tính từ đầu thế kỷ XX đến nay đã thể hiện rõ những nét đặc thù do ảnh hưởng của đặc điểm văn hóa xã hội trong mỗi giai đoạn.

-  Ba là, mốc Đổi mới 1986 đã thực sự đánh dấu một lộ trình mới của văn xuôi đề tài đồng tính, “từ các hình thức ngụy trang đến các tự thuật công khai thú nhận”.

- Bốn là, việc tiếp nhận mảng văn xuôi đề tài đồng tính cho thấy những vận động nội tại và biện chứng của đời sống xã hội đương đại, trong đó có vấn đề về thái độ, về quan hệ và cách thức.

- Năm là, một quan niệm mềm dẻo và động về văn chương đồng tính chính là trang bị cần thiết để hình dung để mảng văn xuôi còn nhiều tranh luận và vẫn còn là sơ khởi.

1. Thesis purpose and objectives

- Purpose: through surveying the data related to the matter of homosexuality in Vietnam’s prose from the beginning of 20^th century to the present time, we trend to re-make up the appearance of homosexuality prose by a complete and systematical view as well as discuss how to accept it in the present time. Also, affirming the feasibility of relatively new study trend of contemporary Vietnamese Literature.

- Object: this thesis studies the modern Vietnamese prose (as published) under two main modalities named: chronicle and imagination in relevance to the homosexuality.

- Study scope: The narrative works consisting of: short stories, novels, memoirs, autobiography etc… from the beginning of 20^th century to the present time. The works of Southern urban literature, the works by the Vietnamese writers in foreign countries as well as the works of online literature only mentioned as a reference information which only clarifies more the scientific conclusions but is not this thesis’s main object.

2. Research methods

- This dissertation has applied 3 main study methods: method of system- structure, method of inter-sector study and comparative method. In addition to clarifying the achievements as well as restrictions of homosexual prose in the flow of various genres, these methods also clarify the homosexual prose’s connection with close sciences such as: homosexuality studies, Psychoanalysis, sociology etc….

3. Major results and conclusions

3.1.The major results

- As to the theory: In addition to introducing the connotation of some definitions such as: homosexuality, queer, homosexual perception etc…, this Dissertation has re-summarized the matters of homosexual theory (also called as dephasing theory) as well as some other theories in relevance to the theory of lesbian, psychoanalysis.

- As to the practices:

+ Firstly, this Dissertation contributes to add one more new study direction in terms of Vietnam’s contemporary prose- the study direction from the theory of homosexuality (dephasing).

+ Secondly, regarding the epistemology: this Dissertation not only has the certain value in evaluating the matter of LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) in terms of sociological aspect, psychoanalysis, anthropology and culture, but also adjusts some consciousnesses in the social management.

3.2. Conclusions

- The first, the prose of homosexuality topic is normally considered as the peripheral, sensitive and complicated prose. Studying this type from the aspect of literary history is one way to sort out “pieces” in the past which have not been satisfactorily interested yet.

- The second, upon developing in views of both overall and detail, the prose of homosexuality topic from the 20^th century to the present time has already obviously demonstrated the particulars due to the effect of social cultural features in each period of time.

- The third, the Renovation landmark in 1986 really marked the new itinerary of the homosexuality prose, “from the disguising forms to the confessed publicly autobiographies”.

- The fourth, accepting the prose of homosexuality topic has pointed out the internal movements and the dialectics of modern social life with the matters of attitude, relations and manners.

- The fifth, one soft, flexible and motive conception in terms of the homosexuality prose is one necessary preparation for imagination and so that the prose is still with many debates and is still the beginning.
