11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:
This dissertation is the first scientific work in Vietnam to study Singapore's multicultural policy, focusing on three areas: religion, language, and education. The research addresses key issues such as the theoretical and practical basis for policy formation; the content (objectives, principles), implementation process of the policy; results and impacts; characteristics and relationship of the policy with the ruling party; and offers some suggestions for Vietnam in developing cultural policies in the fields of language and education.
12. Practical applications:
- As a systematic study of Singapore's multicultural policies in the areas of religion, language, and education, this dissertation serves as a reference for research and teaching in Southeast Asian studies, international studies, and cultural studies.
- In the context of continuing ethnic conflicts spreading across the world, inter-ethnic relations need to be given special attention for peace and stability. The study of Singapore's effective multicultural policy approach to managing a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, and multi-religious society offers a useful reference for other multicultural nations.
- By systematically analyzing Singapore's multicultural policies, highlighting the consistency in their nature and implementation principles (through their characteristics), the unity in multicultural policy management, and the close relationship between these policies and the ruling party's ideology, cultural policymakers will gain valuable insights for developing, innovating, and formulating Vietnam's cultural policies; and acquire additional basis and experience in formulating guidelines and policies appropriate to the country's realities.
Furthermore, understanding Singapore's multicultural policies strengthens relations and promotes mutual understanding between Vietnam and Singapore in particular, and between Vietnam and Southeast Asia in general.
13. Future research directions
- Singapore's future multicultural policy
- Conduct scientific research projects at various levels related to Singapore's multicultural policy.
- Singapore's relationship with countries in Southeast Asia and its relationship with Vietnam.
