1.1. Research Objectives
- This dissertation logically and systematically studies and objectively and scientifically evaluates the regional integration process of Mercosur countries from the bloc's establishment in 1991 to 2016. Based on this, the dissertation offers assessments of the bloc's future integration prospects.

- Regional integration within the Mercosur bloc, including issues related to the foundation, context, content, impact, and prospects of the regional integration process.

In this dissertation, international research methods, historical methods, policy analysis methods, and methods of analyzing documents, discourse, and images are appropriately applied to address the specific research content.
3. Main results and conclusions
3.1. Main results
- To fully and clearly identify the conditions and foundations, both theoretical and practical, that led to the establishment of Mercosur in 1991;
- A logical and rational analysis, based on the stages of content development, of the impact of regional integration within the Mercosur framework;
- Provide appropriate explanations, based on thorough analysis, regarding the impact and, consequently, assess the future development prospects of the bloc.
3.2. Conclusion
- Utilizing theories of economic integration and intergovernmental institutions allows for in-depth study of regional integration among Mercosur countries;
- Changes in the internal and external contexts of the bloc fueled the need for new integration, combined with past integration experiences, leading to the formation of Mercosur.
- Mercosur's integration process shows that the bloc has gone through three successive stages of development. Each stage has seen a continuity and change in the content of integration, and has achieved many important results, although many challenges remain for further deepening integration.
- Regional integration within the Mercosur bloc has multifaceted impacts on the building and development of the bloc, the development and foreign relations of member states, as well as international relations issues in Latin America and around the world.
- The prospects for intra-Mercosur integration depend heavily on global economic integration trends, as well as the level of commitment and integration conditions of member countries.

1.1. Thesis' purpose
- The thesis aims at researching logically, logically and assess objectively, reasonably the process of regional integration of Mercosur's countries since the bloc was established in 1991, until now (2016). Based on that, the thesis gives some reflections on the prospect of the block.
1.2. Thesis objectives
- The regional integration of Mercosur includes, among other things, issues related to inside and outside conditions, intra and extra-regional context, fields, impacts and prospects of this process.
2. Research methods
The thesis uses a combination of research methods such as: methods for international studies, historical method, policy analysis method, discourse analysis method, etc. to carry out the thesis tasks set out.
3. Major results and conclusions
3.1.The major results
- Defining relatively clear conditions and context which is based on, Mercosur was formed in 1991;
- Analyzing relatively thoroughly, in periods, programs and its results and effects to block as a whole as well as it's member countries;
- Giving appropriate explanations about the bloc's regional integration results and current status as well as giving some reflections on the bloc's prospects.
3.2.Revisions
- Applying the theories of economic integration and intergovernmental institutions are very helpful for research on the regional integration of Mercosur countries;
- The changes of internal and external contexts gave impetus to a new demand for integration of the Mercosur countries, and that new need combined with their experiences in previous decades led to the formation of the bloc;
- The integration reality shows that the bloc has developed through three successive stages. The stages have inherited and changed issues of integration. Until now, the bloc has gained the significant achievements also there are still some challenges for promoting the deeper integration;
- The regional integration within Mercosur has a multifaced effect on the building and development of the bloc itself, the development and external relations of its member states as well as international relations in Latin America in particular and in the world in general.
- The prospect of Mercosur's integration depends heavily on the trends of international economic integration as well as the level of commitment and the conditions for integration of the bloc's member states.
