- Firstly: The dissertation provides a general overview of the fundamental and universal characteristics of Marxist methodology in the reception and orientation of that methodology in the field of Vietnamese literary criticism during the period 1945-1975.

-Secondly: The dissertation, through its documentary evidence, outlines and explains the process of the emergence, penetration, and eventual establishment of Marxist methodology as the mainstream and dominant approach in literary research and criticism.

-Thirdly: A vision of the process of affirming the unique presence and profound dominance of Marxist methodology in Vietnamese literary research and criticism during the 1945-1975 period has also been presented. Accordingly, the thesis seeks to identify important foundations, emphasizing the historical and ideological context in which Marxist methodology dominated Vietnamese literary criticism and research during the 1945-1975 period, and offers objective interpretations of the contributions, advantages, and limitations of this methodology during a very special historical period of the country.
