11. Summary of new results of the Thesis:

- Gather basic theories related to the synthetic index, innovation assessment, innovation assessment model, innovation assessment related indexes GCI, GII, SII, TAI and KEI to select the innovation assessment index for Vietnam (VN-SII)

- Research and analyze international and Vietnamese conditions to propose a roadmap for applying VN-SII in accordance with Vietnam's socio-economic development conditions until 2035 and solutions to implement the VN-SII roadmap in the context of international integration.

- Investigate, survey, collect data to calculate VN-SII index for the years 2014-2016 and average growth of VN-SII index in the period 2014-2016;

12. Practical applicability

- The successful application of the VN-SII index will supplement the national statistical indicator system with a comprehensive index for the science and technology sector in general and evaluate innovation activities for Vietnam in particular in a direction that is in harmony with the international trend;

- The roadmap for applying the VN-SII index, completed on schedule by 2035, will contribute to the success of Vietnam's international integration policy in general and science and technology in particular;

- Through the results of regular innovation activity assessment, managers will know the innovation activities of industries and fields, thereby having solutions to enhance innovation activities in enterprises, contributing to improving the competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises, especially in the current integration trend.

13. Further research directions

- Research some synthetic indicators related to the assessment of the science and technology sector to complete the national statistical indicator system of the science and technology sector in Vietnam.

- Investigating, making survey, collecting data to calculate VN-SII index from 2014-2016 and average growth of VN-SII index during 2014-2016

- The successful implementation of the VN-SII will complement the national statistical indicator system an overall index for science and technology in general and evaluate innovation activities for Vietnam in particular following a harmonious trend with the world
