Student's Full Name: Duong Thi Thanh Huyen 2. Gender: Female 3. Date of Birth: November 21, 1985 4. Place of Birth: Hanoi 5. Decision No. 1528/2009/QD-XHNV-KH&SDH dated October 14, 2009, of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities regarding the recognition of postgraduate students in 2009. 6. Changes during the training process: None 7. Thesis Title: Research on developing a Retention Schedule for Documents of Basic Construction Projects (Civil Engineering Projects). 8. Specialization: Archival Studies; Code: 60 32 24 9. Scientific Supervisor: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Phuong 10. Summary of thesis results: The thesis has summarized the basic groups and types of construction documents formed during the construction process, clarifying the theoretical basis for constructing a table of retention periods for documents of civil construction projects. In particular, the thesis has developed a table of retention periods for documents of civil construction projects. Chapter 1. General issues concerning construction documents. In this chapter, the author delves into the study of construction documents such as their content, components, characteristics, etc. In particular, the groups and types of documents formed during the construction of civil construction projects are detailed to show the diversity of this document group. At the same time, in Chapter One, the author also studies and explores the levels of civil construction projects and the relevant agencies involved in the construction process. With these contents, Chapter One holds a relatively important position as a foundation for the implementation of the following chapters of the thesis. Chapter 2. Theoretical Basis for Constructing a Table of Retention Periods for Documents of Civil Construction Projects. Based on the survey results in Chapter One, the author constructs the theoretical basis for constructing a table of retention periods for documents of civil construction projects. This is a crucial chapter, of primary significance, helping the author to build and apply correct principles and standards to determine retention periods for different types and levels of construction projects and to construct a table of retention periods for documents of civil construction projects in Chapter 3. Chapter 3. Constructing a Table of Retention Periods for Documents of Civil Construction Projects. Based on the types of documents generated during the construction process listed in Chapter One and the theoretical basis established in Chapter Two, in Chapter Three, the author proceeded to draft a table of retention periods for documents of civil construction projects. This is an important chapter, representing the majority of the author's research results. 11. Practical application: The research results of this project will serve as a reference source for agencies, organizations, and individuals working in the archiving of construction documents in determining the value of these documents. At the same time, the project will also serve as a reference source to help the State Archives and Records Administration research, develop, and issue professional guidance documents for construction documents. The results of this research will contribute a small theoretical part to the study of developing a retention schedule for documents of civil engineering projects in particular and construction documents in general - a type of document that has not been extensively studied in our country today. 12. Further research directions: Continue to explore and research the development of a retention schedule for documents of industrial construction projects, transportation projects, agricultural and rural development projects, and technical infrastructure projects. 13. Published works related to the thesis: To our knowledge, no works have been published on this issue to date./.
INFORMATION ON MASTER'S THESIS
1. Full name: DUONG Thi Thanh Huyen 2. Gender: Female 3. Date of birth: November 21, 1985 4. Place of birth: Hanoi 5. Admission decision number: 1528/2009/QD-XHNV-KH&SĐH dated September 14, 2009 by University of Social Sciences and Humanity, Hanoi National University. 6. Changes in academic process: None 7. Official thesis title: Research on Building Retention Schedule for Document of Construction Works. 8. Major: Archives Code: 60 32 24 9. Supervisor: Ass. Prf. Dr. NGUYEN Minh Phuong 10. Summary of the thesis: The thesis summarizes different types of documents created during implementation of construction works and identify theoretical basis of building retention schedule for this kind of document. More significantly, the thesis has built up a retention schedule for civil construction works' document. Chapter 1: General issues on civil construction works' document In this chapter, the author focuses on civil construction works' document, such as its content, types and features of document… Especially, the thesis identifies and lists different groups and types of document created in building a construction project to show the diversity of this kind of document. In this chapter, the author also studies different types of construction works and organizations involved in a construction project. With the above-mentioned content, chapter 1 plays an important role in implementing the following chapter. Chapter 2: Theoretical basis of building retention schedule for civil construction works' document Based on the survey's outcome in chapter 1, the author sets up theoretical basis of building a retention schedule for civil construction works' document. This is a significant chapter because it helps the author to establish and apply principles and standards to identify retention period for different types of construction works and build retention schedule for construction works as in chapter 3. Chapter 3: Building retention schedule for document of civil construction works Based on types of document created during implementation of a construction project mentioned in chapter 1 and theoretical basis in chapter 2, in chapter 3 the author sets up a draft of retention schedule for civil construction works. The chapter shows most of the results of the author's research. 11. Practical applicability: Result of the research is a resource of reference for organizations, agencies as well as record managers to assess this kind of document. The thesis is also a source of information for the State Records and Archives Department of Vietnam to study, build and enact professional guiding document relating management of civil construction works' document. In terms of theory, the thesis's outcome will make a contribution to research and building retention schedule for documentation of civil construction works in particular and construction works' document in general – a kind of document which is not studied so much in our country. 12. Further research directions: Continue to study and research to build retention schedule for other types of construction works.
